Educational Degree. During the term of this MOU, the City will pay those employees who have earned degrees from accredited college institutions, when not required by the employee’s classification, additional pay as follows: • Associate of Art/Science Degree $ 75.00 per month or $34.61 per pay period • Bachelor of Art/Science Degree $150.00 per month or $69.23 per pay period An employee is only eligible to receive educational degree premium pay for one-degree classification. An employee is not eligible to receive this pay for multiple degrees and/or disciplines. For part-time regular employees working at least 20 hours per week, the payment shall be pro-rated based on the percentage of hours regularly schedule to work in relation to full-time. This Educational Degree Pay shall only be paid to employees holding a degree beyond that which is required for their classification, as outlined in the job description. Effective July 1, 2010 employees currently receiving Degree Pay, who hold a position which requires the degree, shall continue to receive the pay until such time as they separate from employment or otherwise move from that position.

Educational Degree. A stipend will be given to any teaching assistant who has attained either an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from an accredited college and/or university. Documentation may be provided prior to September 1 or February 1 of any school year. When documentation is provided by September 1, payment will commence on or before November 1; when documentation is provided by February 1, payment will commence on or before March 1 of that school year. The amount will continue to be paid each year that the unit member remains employed by the school district. The differentials shall not be cumulative.   • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Professional Development Funds 23.1.1 Two Professional Development Funds, a Professional Development Support Fund and an Education Leave Fund, shall be established to support professional development activities as defined in 23.2. On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund. Any unused balances in these funds shall carry over to the next budget year.
