Expected Impacts Listed in the Work. Programme A few months after the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All it is very important that all chances are taken to avoid new barriers growing from new forms of communication to find their role in the society in large. Dicta-Sign will be the key technology to promote sign language communication and provide Web 2.0 services and other HCI technologies to Deaf sign language users, an important linguistic minority in Europe so far excluded from these new developments. As the field of sign language technology is still very young, it is beyond the scope of a 3-year STREP to catch up completely with mainstream language technology and to deliver end-user products. Dicta-Sign concentrates on significantly advancing the enabling technologies by a multidisciplinary approach and to come close enough so that designers of future natural language systems can fully take sign languages into account. It is therefore vital to disseminate the results of the project not only within its home disciplines. This will not only be done by the respective activities of those partners involved in general language technology (esp. XXXXXX RC and CNRS), but also by means of a workshop at the end of the project. The tools integrated in WP7 will be demonstrated in WP8 and also as part of the WP9 activities fitting into the scenarios expected by the attendees from natural language technology and the ECA (Embodied Conversational Agents) communities. Apart from the major academic institutions which have expressed their interest in scientific collaboration, several organisations active in virtual agents as well as telecom operators and broadcasters have already expressed their interest in Dicta-Sign technology, and this interest can be expected to attract further members of the industry. The interest of service providers to the Deaf community to get early access to the technology to be developed in Dicta-Sign, in order to produce end-user products they consider essential for their customers, is strong evidence for the success of this approach. The areas of image processing, computer vision, language technology and virtual human technology are all research areas where advances have significant impact on contemporary society, with respect to the kind of data stored, and the manner in which humans interact with computers.   • MINOR CHANGES IN THE WORK 7.4.1 The Architect will have authority to order minor changes in the Work not involving adjustment in the Contract Sum or extension of the Contract Time and not inconsistent with the intent of the Contract Documents. Such changes shall be effected by written order and shall be binding on the Owner and Contractor. The Contractor shall carry out such written orders without delay.

  • Changes in the Work The Department may order changes in the work, the Contract Amount being adjusted accordingly. Any monetary adjustment or any substantive change in the work shall be in the form of an amendment, signed by both parties and approved by the State Purchases Review Committee. Said amendment must be effective prior to execution of the work.

  • Violence in the Workplace (a) The parties agree that violence shall be defined as any incident in which an employee is abused, threatened or assaulted while performing his or her work. The parties agree it includes the application of force, threats with or without weapons and severe verbal abuse. The parties agree that such incidents will not be condoned. Any employee who believes he/she has been subjected to such incident shall report this to a supervisor who will make every reasonable effort to rectify the situation.   • Deductions for Uncorrected Work If the Design Professional and Owner deem it inexpedient to correct work injured or done not in accordance with the contract, an equitable deduction from the contract price shall be made therefore and confirmed by execution of a lump sum Change Order. There is no duty on the part of the Owner, however, to accept any work injured or done not in accordance with the methods and materials designated in the contract documents, nor does the Contractor have the right to demand that there shall be acceptance of work injured or done not in accordance with the methods and materials designated in the Contract Documents.

  • CONDITIONS FOR EMERGENCY/HURRICANE OR DISASTER - TERM CONTRACTS It is hereby made a part of this Invitation for Bids that before, during and after a public emergency, disaster, hurricane, flood, or other acts of God that Orange County shall require a “first priority” basis for goods and services. It is vital and imperative that the majority of citizens are protected from any emergency situation which threatens public health and safety, as determined by the County. Contractor agrees to rent/sell/lease all goods and services to the County or other governmental entities as opposed to a private citizen, on a first priority basis. The County expects to pay contractual prices for all goods or services required during an emergency situation. Contractor shall furnish a twenty-four (24) hour phone number in the event of such an emergency.

  • Convicted, Discriminatory, Antitrust Violator, and Suspended Vendor Lists In accordance with sections 287.133, 287.134, and 287.137, F.S., the Contractor is hereby informed of the provisions of sections 287.133(2)(a), 287.134(2)(a), and 287.137(2)(a), F.S.
