FALLING SICK WHILE ON LEAVE. If the employee becomes sick or is injured whilst on Annual Leave or Long Service Leave the employee shall be granted, at a time convenient to Council, additional leave equivalent to the period of sickness or injury occurring within the scheduled period of leave. The employee must produce within reasonable time satisfactory medical evidence of their illness or injury, to show they were unable to derive benefit from their leave. The period of sickness or injury must be at least five consecutive working days. Reinstatement of Leave due to illness will occur from the date of attendance at a Medical Practitioner. No retrospective reinstatement of leave will be approved.

  • Rights While on Leave A bargaining unit member approved for a professional conference shall receive full salary while in attendance at said conference. In addition, an estimate of cost of reimbursement will be submitted with the request.

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling Within Vacation Schedule If a paid holiday falls on or is observed during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall be allowed an additional vacation day with pay at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and employee.

  • Reinstatement of Vacation Days - Sick Leave In the event an employee is sick or injured prior to the commencement of his/her vacation, such employee shall be granted sick leave and the vacation period so displaced shall be added to the vacation period if requested by the employee and by mutual agreement, or shall be reinstated for use at a later date.

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Leave of Absence for Full-Time Union or Public Duties An employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Union or anybody with which the Union is affiliated, or who is elected to public office, shall be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Prime Time Vacation Period Subject to the provisions of this article, it is the intent of the parties that no employee will be restricted in the time of year they choose to take their vacation. The Employer will make every effort to allow employees to take their vacation during the period of April 15th to October 15th inclusive, which will be defined as the prime time vacation period.
