Family Illness. (a) In the case of illness or hospitalization of a dependent child and where the needs of an the dependent cannot be addressed through the employee, 's flexible work schedule and when no one at the employee's home other than the employee can provide for the needs of the ill childdependent, the employee shall be entitled, after notifying their his/her supervisor, to use up to a maximum of two (2) days' paid leave at any one time for this purpose.
(b) The Employer may request a report from a qualified medical practitioner when it appears that a pattern of consistent absence is developing.

(b) The Employer may request of the employee a written explanation of the nature of the illness. If a pattern of absences under this provision develops, the Employer may further request a report from a qualified medical practitioner when it appears that a pattern of consistent absence is developingwhich substantiates the illness.
