  • Twelve Month Employees A member of the unit who is employed on a twelve (12) month 19 basis shall be allowed paid vacation leave, exclusive of holidays, as follows:

  • Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime.   • Laid Off Employees A) Should vacancies occur following layoff, those employees on layoff will be recalled to these positions in order of seniority providing they have the capabilities and the qualifications to perform the duties of the vacant position. If no employee on layoff possesses the required capabilities and qualifications, the vacant position will be posted pursuant to Article 15.01.
