Gender perspective. 1. The Parties agree that cooperation shall help to strengthen policies, programmes and mechanisms that aim to ensure, improve and expand the equal participation of, and opportunities for, men and women in political, economic, social and cultural life, in particular with a view to the effective implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. Where appropriate, affirmative action in support of women shall be taken. 2. Cooperation shall promote the integration of the gender perspective in all the relevant fields of cooperation, including public policy, development strategies and actions as well as indicators to measure their impact. 3. Cooperation shall also help to facilitate equal access for men and women to all services and resources allowing them to fully exercise their fundamental rights, such as in respect of education, health, vocational training, employment opportunities, political decision-making, governance structures and private undertakings. 4. Particular attention shall be given to programmes aimed at preventing and addressing all forms of violence against women.

Gender perspective. The MPWT defined a gender mainstreaming strategy to create employment opportunities and make efforts to carry out capacity building for women. The MPWT is expected to implement this project under a gender mainstreaming framework. Additional compensation will be offered to vulnerable households such as those led by widows under the resettlement action plan.

By the use of either the masculine or feminine genders it is understood that said use is for convenience purposes only and is not to be interpreted to be discriminatory by reason of sex.
