The General Pay Administration clause establishes the rules and procedures for determining and managing employee compensation within an organization. General Pay Administration. An employee who is temporarily assigned to perform all the duties of a higher classification shall be paid at the rate of the higher range that would be appropriate in case of promotion. The increase shall become effective immediately and shall continue for the duration of the assignment. In the event the employee is promoted to the position on a permanent basis while acting in the position, time spent acting in the higher range shall be counted for purposes of satisfying the promotional probationary period.
