Geotechnical Reporting. The Consultant will prepare a draft and final Geotechnical Engineering Report with field and laboratory data, and conclusions and recommendations for design and construction of the proposed wall replacement. Assumptions: • One round of revisions to the draft geotechnical engineering report will be required after submittal to the City prior to issuing the final geotechnical engineering report. • It is estimated that the geotechnical site investigation will occur within two weeks of receiving notice-to-proceed. The geotechnical engineering analysis and draft will take 4 to 5 weeks to complete after the geotechnical site investigation, at which time the draft Geotechnical Engineering Report will be submitted to the City. The final Geotechnical Engineering Report will be issued within two weeks of receiving comments from the City. • The excavator and operator for the test pit will be organized and provided by the City. If this is not feasible, a supplemental agreement can be provided by OCI for the Consultant for this work. • All necessary Rights of Entry will be completed and provided by City Staff. • Soil cuttings from test pitting will be backfilled within the investigation locations. • Environmental sampling of suspected contaminated soil is not included. • The retaining wall will be designed by the Consultant as described in subsequent sections. • Assumes no geotechnical evaluations will be needed for the mitigation site design. Deliverables:
Geotechnical Reporting. We will issue electronic copies of the Geotechnical Data Report (GDR) and Geotechnical Design Memorandum (GDM) prepared by a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas. Specifically, the report will include the following: Geotechnical Data Report (GDR): • Description of the field exploration program; • Description of the laboratory testing program; • Soil boring plan that depicts borehole locations; • Soil boring logs with soil classifications based on the Unified Soil Classification System (ASTM D 2487); • Generalized site stratigraphy and engineering properties developed from field and laboratory data at the explored locations; • Depth where groundwater, if encountered, and its potential impact on construction; • Site Class Determination based on the 2015 Code IBC; Geotechnical Design Memorandum (GDM): The Geotechnical Design Memorandum will provide the following geotechnical recommendations. • Recommendations for design and construction of foundations including allowable bearing pressures and bearing elevations for shallow isolated footings and drilled straight-shaft piers, and associated total and differential settlements; • Recommendations for below grade walls including equivalent fluid lateral earth pressures and sliding coefficients; • Recommendations for concrete paving associated with ground floor garages and driveways; • Evaluation of soil corrosion potential, including potential need for sulfate resistant cement; • Recommendations for construction excavations and temporary shoring; • Recommendations for temporary and permanent dewatering systems; and • Earthwork recommendations, comments regarding excavation potential, mitigation of expansive clay soils, if present, and other construction considerations. 0000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxx 000 Xxxxxx, Xxxxx 00000 512.494.0208 t 512.494.0406 f xxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxx Construction Observation Construction Observation Sunland Group 0000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxx 000 Xxxxxx, Xxxxx 00000 512.494.0208 t 512.494.0406 f xxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxx Provide pier drilling and detailed construction site observation and testing of concrete during the placement of piers.
