Granting Leave of Absence. ‌ No leave of absence shall be granted under this article to any employee for study purposes who has not rendered service to the district for at least seven consecutive years, or for retraining purposes who has not rendered service to the district for at least three consecutive years preceding the granting of the leave, and no more than one such leave of absence shall be granted in each seven or three-year period, respectively.

Granting Leave of Absence. 1. An employee who is unable to work because of personal illness or disability and who has exhausted all sick leave available shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for the duration of such illness or disability, up to one year. The leave may be renewed for one additional year upon written request by the employee, recommendation by the Superintendent, and approval by the Board.
