Compensation During Leave. FMLA leave will be unpaid leave unless the employee has accrued paid leave and is otherwise eligible to use the leave. If an employee requests leave for the employee’s own serious health condition, for the serious health condition of the employee’s spouse, child, or parent, to provide military caregiver leave, or exigency leave, the employee must use all of his/her accrued paid annual leave, sick leave (if it qualifies under employers sick leave use requirements), compensatory time leave, and personal time off as part of the FMLA leave. When substituting accrued paid leave, the employee must comply with the Humboldt County procedural requirements, terms, and conditions of the paid leave policy as appropriate; the remainder of the leave period will then consist of unpaid FMLA leave. Employees must be made aware that they are required to use sick, annual, compensatory time and personal leave as appropriate, in the rights and responsibilities notice Form WH-381: Notice of Eligibility and Rights & Responsibilities.
Compensation During Leave. Leave necessitated by pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth and recovery therefrom shall be treated the same as sick leave. Consequently, a classified employee shall utilize sick leave and any other available differential sick pay leave during the period of the pregnancy disability/family care and medical leave. The accumulated sick leave shall be used first. After the accumulated leave is exhausted, the employee shall use any available extended sick leave. The employee may also elect, or the District may require the employee to utilize any other paid leave during the pregnancy disability/family care and medical leave. Nothing in this policy shall require the District to provide paid sick leave or paid medical leave in any situation in which the District would not otherwise provide any such paid leave.
Compensation During Leave. A. This policy governs unpaid leaves of absence; however, the Chief Executive Officer or designee, may require that accrued annual leave, personal leave, holiday leave or compensatory leave (in the case of non-exempt employees) be used prior to granting LWOP.
Compensation During Leave. All leaves granted under this provision are without pay. For purposes of placement on the salary schedule, a leave of absence for service in the Armed Forces of the United States shall be counted as though service had been performed. For all other leaves, salary increments are not earned.
Compensation During Leave. Supplemental family and medical is unpaid. The Calexico Unified School District will require an employee to use accrued paid leave (such as vacation) to cover some or all of the supplemental family or medical leave.
Compensation During Leave. Compensation granted by the governing board to the employee on leave may be paid in two equal annual installments during the first two (2) years of service rendered in the employ of the governing board following the return of the employee from the leave of absence. The compensation shall be paid the employee while on the leave of absence in the same manner as if the employee were working in the district, upon the furnishing by the employee of a suitable bond indemnifying the governing board of the district against loss in the event that the employee fails to render at least two years' service in the employ of the governing board following the return of the employee from the leave of absence. The bond shall be exonerated in the event the failure of the employee to return and render two years' service is caused by the death or physical or mental disability of the employee. If the governing board finds, and by resolution declares, that the interests of the district will be protected by the written agreement of the employee to return to the service of the district and render at least two years' service therein following his return from the leave, the governing board in its discretion may waive the furnishing of the bond and pay the employee on leave in the same manner as though a bond is furnished.
Compensation During Leave. Compensation shall be at the rate of fifty-percent (50%) of the employee's basic salary for the year during which leave is to occur. If an applicant receives a financial grant in aid which is less than his or her basic salary, the District will pay the difference between that grant and the basic salary; provided, however, that the amount paid by the District shall not exceed fifty-percent (50%) of the employee's basic salary.
Compensation During Leave. FML is an unpaid leave. However, an employee shall not be granted unpaid FML unless the employee has first exhausted all of the employee’s paid leave available for use under USM leave policies and procedures.
Compensation During Leave. The employees will receive his or her normal compensation during the exchange. There will be no District compensation for the exchange teacher.
Compensation During Leave. When a person employed in a position requiring certification qualifications is absent from his/her duties on account of an industrial accident or illness, he/she shall be paid such portion of the salary due him/her for any month in which the absence occurs as, when added to his/her temporary disability indemnity, shall result in a payment of not more than his/her full salary.
