Leave Available. Leave taken under the pregnancy disability policy set forth in this Article runs concurrently with family care and medical leave under federal law, but not family care and medical leave under California law. Leave Available. Leave taken under the industrial accident or illness disability policy set forth in this Article runs concurrently with family care and medical leave under both federal and state law. Eligible permanent classified employees who suffer an industrial accident or illness on the job are entitled to sixty (60) days of leave at full salary less the amount of temporary disability payments provided by Workers’ Compensation. Consequently, an eligible employee may take a combination industrial accident or illness disability/family care and medical leave for a maximum of twelve (12) work weeks of family care and medical leave. The sixty (60) days of industrial accident disability leave shall be deducted from the twelve (12) work weeks of family care and medical leave. All such payments of salary will be coordinated with any state disability Workers’ Compensation or other wage reimbursement benefits for which employees may be eligible. At no time shall an employee receive a greater total payment than the employee’s regular salary. Upon termination of the sixty (60) days industrial accident or illness leave, an employee may elect, or the District may require the employee, to use accumulated sick leave or extended sick leave to compensate the employee for the difference in pay between the workers’ compensation temporary disability payments and the employee’s regular salary. At no time shall the employee receive more than his or her full salary. In the event the employee elects or is required to use sick leave, the accumulated sick leave shall be used first. After the accumulated sick leave is exhausted, the employee must use any available extended sick leave during the remaining period of the industrial accident or illness leave/family care and medical leave. When an employee has exhausted all available paid leaves, he or she shall be notified, in writing, of the depletion of the leave. The employee shall be offered the opportunity to request additional unpaid leave within five (5) days of the mailing of such notification.
Leave Available. A unit member disabled due to pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition may take up to a maximum of four months leave. As an alternative, CNCA may transfer the unit member to a less strenuous or hazardous position if so requested, with the advice of the unit member’s physician, and if the transfer can be reasonably accommodated. Leave taken under the pregnancy disability policy runs concurrently with family/medical leave under federal law.
Leave Available. Eligible employees may receive up to a total of 12 work weeks of unpaid leave during a rolling 12-month period for one or more of the following reasons:
10.10.1.2.1 For the birth or placement of a child for adoption or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ care;
10.10.1.2.2 To care for an immediate family member (spouse, child, or parent) with a serious health condition; or
10.10.1.2.3 To take medical leave when the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition. Under some circumstances, employees may take family and medical leave intermittently -- which means taking leave in blocks of time, or by reducing their normal weekly or daily work schedule. Pregnant employees may have the right to take a pregnancy disability leave in addition to a family leave; such employees should contact the Director of Personnel regarding their individual situations. Certain restrictions on these benefits may apply.
Leave Available. Eligible employees may receive up to a total of six work weeks of unpaid leave during a rolling 12-month period for one or more of the following reasons:
10.11.2.1 For the birth or placement of a child for adoption or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ care;
10.11.2.2 To care for an immediate family member (spouse, child, or parent-- not parent -in- law or grandparent) with a serious health condition; or
10.11.2.3 To take medical leave when the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition. Employees may take two leaves of absence per rolling 12- month period for a total of up to six workweeks per rolling 12-month period. The minimum duration for any such leave is one day. Pregnant employees may be eligible to take pregnancy disability leave. Pregnancy disability leave runs concurrently with family and medical leave. Certain restrictions on these benefits may apply.
Leave Available. In supporting employees in the workplace who may be suffering from or escaping domestic/family violence a chief executive, agency head or delegate will allow employees to access up to 15 days special leave with pay which is not considered to be part of the general 15 days special leave with pay allowance for special purposes. Should further leave be required the delegate may consider approving other forms of leave available including but not limited to additional special leave with pay available under urgent pressing necessity.

Leave Available. An employee experiencing family violence will have access to 10 days per year (not cumulative) of paid special leave for medical appointments, legal proceedings and other activities related to family violence. This leave will be in addition to existing leave entitlements and may be taken as consecutive or single days or as a fraction of a day and can be taken without prior approval. In circumstances where an employee has exhausted all paid leave entitlements, consideration may be given for further leave without pay. Proof of family violence may be required and can be in the form of a document issued by the Police, a Court, a Doctor, a Lawyer, District Nurse, Maternal and Child Health Care Nurse, a Family Violence Support Service or Lawyer or Statutory Declaration. An employee who supports a person experiencing family violence may apply for carer’s leave in accordance with clause S.10.2.
Leave Available. The employee, in consultation with the Berlin Water Works Superintendent, will arrange for the use of maternity leave in the order given:
(1) Sick leave;
(2) Vacation leave;
(3) Leave of absence with Berlin Water Works provided accident and sickness insurance benefits;
(4) Leave of absence without pay.

(2) Vacation leave;
(3) Leave of absence with City provided accident and sickness insurance benefits;
