Common use of Holiday Premium Pay Clause in Contracts

Holiday Premium Pay. Employees working on the declared holiday, or called in on a declared holiday, will receive holiday premium pay for all hours worked in addition to their base hourly rate of pay for each hour worked. When New Year’s Day, Independence Day or Christmas Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, holiday premium pay will be paid for the actual holiday (January 1, July 4 or December 25) instead of the observed holiday as listed in Section 1 above. Under no circumstances can any employee receive holiday premium pay for both the observed and actual holiday.
