Common use of Holidays Observed – Part-Time Employees Clause in Contracts

Holidays Observed – Part-Time Employees. When a holiday is observed by CCCERA, each part-time employee is entitled to observe the holiday in the same ratio as his/her number of position hours bears to forty (40) hours, multiplied by eight (8) hours, without a reduction in pay. For example, a part time employee whose position hours are 24 per week is entitled to 4.8 hours off work on a holiday (24/40 x 8 =4.8). Hereafter, the number of hours produced by this calculation will be referred to as the “part time employee’s holiday hours.”
