Individual Member Grievances. An aggrieved bargaining unit member shall discuss the matter giving rise to the grievance with his/her supervisor within 21 calendar days of the event giving rise to the grievance with the objective of resolving the matter informally and may request an Association Representative to attend. If the aggrieved bargaining unit member is unsatisfied with the disposition from the oral discussion and wishes to further pursue the matter, the aggrieved bargaining unit member shall file a written grievance setting forth the detailed facts and the specific provision or provisions of the Agreement alleged to have been violated, and stating the settlement desired. The aggrieved bargaining unit member is encouraged to consult with an Association Representative prior to writing and submitting the grievance. The written grievance must be delivered to the grievant’s supervisor and copies delivered to the College Human Resources Department and the Association offices within 28 calendar days of the event giving rise to the grievance.

  • Grievance Committee The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The number of employees on the Grievance Committee shall be determined locally.
