Common use of Joint Labour Management Meetings Clause in Contracts

Joint Labour Management Meetings. (a) There shall be a Union-Management Committee consisting of two representatives of the Union and two representatives of the Employer. An additional resource person may accompany the representatives of either party on mutual agreement. (b) The Committee shall meet quarterly at the request of either party to discuss matters of concern. Meetings shall be at a mutually agreed time and place. Each party shall notify the other party of the proposed Agenda as far in advance of the meeting as possible, but no later than one week before the meeting. The meetings shall be co-chaired between a Union member and an Employer member. (c) The purpose of the Union-Management Committee is to discuss items of mutual concern to Management and Staff. The Committee shall not have the power to alter, amend or modify the specific terms of the Agreement, nor to deal with any matter which is or could be the subject of a grievance. (d) Employee members of the Union-Management Committee shall suffer no loss of earnings for attending meetings of the Committee during their regularly scheduled hours.
