Common use of Jury Duty and Witness Duty Clause in Contracts

Jury Duty and Witness Duty. 11.1 An employee who is called for jury duty or subpoenaed as a Crown witness shall be excused from work for any day he is required to report for such jury or witness duty, and shall receive for each such day on which he otherwise would have worked, the difference between eight and onehalf (81/2) times his regular hourly rate and the payment he receives for jury or witness duty. 11.2 An employee working a fixed shift or rotating shift will not be required to report for work on the day or days he is called for jury duty or subpoenaed as a Crown witness.
