Common use of Jury Duty/Court Leave Clause in Contracts

Jury Duty/Court Leave. 1. All absences for jury duty/court leave must be requested in writing through the District’s electronic system. 2. The employee must endorse his or her check for jury duty service over to the Treasurer of the Board and simply receive the normal salary amount to which the employee otherwise would be entitled under his or her contract(s). 3. Employees shall be released from duty, without loss of pay or benefits, for absence due to the employee’s compliance with a subpoena to appear in a court of law, provided that the subpoena is work related and neither the employee nor the Union is a party in the litigation adverse to the Board of Education or adverse to any individual Board member or administrator.
