Jury or Witness Service Leave Entitlement. A Full-time or Part-time Staff Member required to serve on a jury or to attend as a witness under Commonwealth or State law is entitled to leave on Full Pay for the period consisting of one or more of the following: time when the Staff Member engages in the jury or witness service; reasonable travelling time associated with the jury or witness service; rest time of up to 1 day immediately following the jury or witness service only if such service has resulted in the Staff Member being sequestered overnight. If a Full-time or Part-time Staff Member is required to serve on a jury or to attend as a witness under Commonwealth or State law during any period of paid leave, such leave will be reinstated for the equivalent period of the jury or witness service. At the discretion of the University, a Casual Staff Member required to serve on a jury or to attend as a witness may receive pay for periods prescribed in Clauseclause 4746.1.1, where: they would have been required for work; or there is a reasonable likelihood that they would have been required to work.
