Common use of Jury & Witness Duty Clause in Contracts

Jury & Witness Duty. (This clause is applicable to part-time employees only) (a) notifies the Hospital immediately on the employee's notification that he will be required to attend at court; (b) presents proof of service requiring the employee's attendance; (c) deposits with the Hospital the full amount of compensation received excluding mileage, travelling and meal allowances and an official receipt thereof. In addition to the foregoing, where a part-time employee is required by subpoena to attend a court of law or coroner's inquest in connection with a case arising from the employee's duties at the Hospital on his regularly scheduled day off, he shall be paid for all hours actually spent at such hearings at his regular straight time hourly rate subject to (a), (b) and (c) above."
