Bus Aides. Prior to the annual bid meeting of each year, each bus aide must provide evidence of passing a physical examination, as set forth on the Board-approved form. The physicals must be conducted by a Board- approved healthcare provider.
Bus Aides a. For services rendered to the School District, Employees shall be paid according to the rate scheduled in Appendix C of this contract.
b. Pay periods shall be of two (2) weeks duration with payment being made electronically every other Friday.
c. Payment shall reflect the numbers of days actually worked during the pay period.
d. The pay year begins when Bus Aides are required to report to work for the ensuing school year.
e. The Board shall provide for all payroll deductions required by law. Other deductions which may be requested are Credit Union, Income Protection Insurance, Tax Sheltered Annuities, and United Way, provided each deduction is Ten Dollars ($10) or more, hospitalization-medical insurance premiums and Union dues/service fee/PAC.
Bus Aides. Where the needs of the individual child/student permit and an IEP does not restrict who may perform aide services, bus aides will rotate for extra trips where aide support is required.
Bus Aides. ESE aides, by job description, are the only support staff designated to ride a bus to accompany students. In the event there are not ESE aides available to ride the bus, the process will be to seek volunteers from the support staff based on student need. Administration would manage the bus ridership first through:
Bus Aides. Summer work for special education bus aides shall be assigned on a seniority basis with the person who is awarded the position assigned to it for the entire summer. Aides assigned to such runs shall not be on a rotating basis but shall work the entire period.
Bus Aides. The Administration will consider assigning an aide to a bus when safety or health concerns are demonstrated.
Bus Aides. Bus Aides will be paid for actual hours worked until completion of bus bids. After the fourth Friday in September, bus aides will be given the opportunity to bid on established routes on a seniority basis. Such bidding will be done simultaneous to, but separate from, the bus driver bidding. Beginning one week later, bus aides will be paid based on the established posted time. After the time is posted, the time paid may be increased or decreased to correlate with actual driving time, but not below the posted time for the balance of the school year.
Bus Aides. Overtime will be paid at the rate of time and one-half for work over 40 hours per week. Overtime will be paid in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. All overtime will be assigned by the Transportation Manager. No other provisions of Article 12 are applicable to bus aides.
Bus Aides. Bus aides who are regularly scheduled during the school year to work five and one-half (5 ½) hours or more per day shall earn up to five (5) days of vacation pay per school year as follows: ▪ One half day per month of service up to a maximum of five (5) days per school year.
Bus Aides. Bus Aides are defined as associates hired specifically to help aide and assist in the monitoring and handling of students on board the school bus.
(A) Associates assigned as bus aides shall be subject to random non-DOT drug testing.
(B) Prior to placement on a bus, all Associates assigned as bus aides shall undergo a training period, be provided guidelines on how to handle situations on the bus and be informed of all job responsibilities.
