Leave for Negotiations. Members of the MSEA-SEIU bargaining team (whose numbers shall not exceed seven (7) for this unit plus the President and Vise President of MSEA-SEIU if either or both are employed in this unit) shall suffer no loss in pay or benefits for participation in negotiations for a successor Agreement. The intent of the parties was to have a representative on the bargaining committee from each College when the number seven (7) was selected as the number of representatives on the MSEA-SEIU bargaining team. The Union will keep this goal in mind when assembling its bargaining team and further will make reasonable efforts to limit to two (2) the number of members of the bargaining team employed at any College. Additionally, leave may be requested for other members necessary for participation on specific negotiation issues and shall not be unreasonably denied. No additional compensation shall be paid if negotiations extend beyond the end of employee’s normal work hours. C Stewards 1. The union may designate a reasonable number of employees to act as stewards on its behalf. A list of such employees designated as stewards shall be given to the MCC System Office and to appropriate officials at the appropriate MCC/System Office. Such stewards will be allowed a reasonable amount of time away from their work without loss of pay to investigate and process grievances.
