Common use of Leave for Storm Or Hazardous Conditions Clause in Contracts

Leave for Storm Or Hazardous Conditions. (a) It is the responsibility of the Employee to make every reasonable effort to arrive at his/her work location as scheduled, however, during storm conditions, when such arrival is impossible, or delayed, all absent time will be deemed to be leave, and the Employee has the option to: (i) take the absent time as unpaid; or (ii) deduct the absent time from accumulated overtime, holiday time or vacation; or (iii) when the Employee has no entitlement to accumulated paid leave, the Employee may, with prior approval of the Employer, make up the absent time as the scheduling allows. (b) Employees assigned to provide services which require travel shall not be required to perform such assignments during hazardous travelling conditions and shall report to his/her facility for reassignment.
