Preceptorship. The Parties recognize and acknowledge that every Nurse has a professional responsibility to participate in preceptor, mentor and orientation duties as required by the Employer. The Employer will provide supports for students, New Graduates and new staff that will make use of models such as preceptorship, mentoring, and orientation. The use of any of these models and approaches will be determined by the Employer based on the needs of the Nurses.
Preceptorship. Nothing herein removes the obligation of Nurses to participate in general orientation of a new hire. The Parties recognize and acknowledge that every Nurse has a professional responsibility to participate in preceptor duties for other Nurses subject to the following:
Preceptorship. In the event the Employer receives compensation for providing preceptorships (or equivalent), the employee will be compensated accordingly.
Preceptorship. It is recommended that all IQNs have a designated preceptor(s) within their workplace/organisation. Preceptorship is a clinical educational strategy where both the preceptor and preceptee (IQN) work together for a specified period of time. The process of preceptorship involves teaching, learning and orientation to the clinical area. The preceptorship experience is an educational relationship that provides role modelling, clinical support, clinical teaching and learning as well as socialisation into the workforce. It is expected that preceptors will help build on the application and use of knowledge in clinical situations and also support IQNs during acculturation process. The preceptor role is pivotal to the successful transition of the IQN into their new responsibilities, and therefore, if possible they should have regular and consistent time together throughout the first year of practice. This is especially important during the formal orientation which occurs during the clinical load sharing period. Should a preceptor be unavailable, consideration needs to be given as to how best support the IQN utilising available resources. For recommended preceptor criteria see Appendix 2.
Preceptorship. Employees who meet the requirements to preceptor shall be utilized for ACP students, PCP students and Medical Technicians providing preferential placement for employees in an approved ACP program with advance notice of placement need. All students currently being precepted in the County will not be displaced unless they can be reasonably accommodated.
Preceptorship. Napa Valley Community College District, hereinafter “District,” and the Napa Valley College Faculty Association, hereinafter “Association,” agree to the following working conditions for NURS 250. The MOU revises and updates provisions of the previous A.D.N. Preceptorship MOU signed in 2008. The provisions of this MOU are effective Fall 2012.
Preceptorship. Nurses will participate in the preceptorship and mentoring of new hires, colleagues and nursing students in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice. Nurses selected by the Employer to be Preceptors will receive a premium of seventy-five cents ($0.75) for each hour worked as a Preceptor.
Preceptorship is a formal supportive relationship between a nurse and a nursing student in order to further enhance the student's professional experience in a clinical setting.

Preceptorship. Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) may be required, as part of their regular duties, to supervise activities of students in accordance with the current College of Nurses of Ontario Practice Guideline- Supporting Learners. RPNs will be informed in writing of their responsibilities in relation to these students and will be provided with what the Health Centre determines to be appropriate training. Any information that is provided to the Health Centre by the educational institution with respect to the skill level of the students will be made available to the nurse’s recruited to supervise the students. Upon request, the Health Centre will review the RPN’s workload with the RPN and the student to facilitate successful completion of the assignment. Where an RPN is assigned nursing student supervision duties, the Health Centre will pay the RPN a premium of sixty cents ($0.60) per hour for all hours spent supervising nursing students. The Health Centre will provide, on a semi-annual basis, all RPNs an opportunity to indicate their interest in assuming the preceptorship role. RPNs are expected, as part of their regular duties, to provide guidance and advice to members of the health care team.
1. All CUPE employees will pay a rate of $0.20 per hour worked for the use of a parking card. No CUPE employees will be given the option to pay the full-time rate of $13.85.
2. Hours worked will be defined as regular, holiday worked, overtime, education and MDS hours. Hours worked do not include: holiday, vacation, sick, bereavement or any premiums.
3. Employees who choose not to pay through payroll deduction will pay the rate at the parking gate, which may change without notice to CUPE.
4. This process will be in effect until the parking letter of intent can be renegotiated with the focal language of the collective agreement.
