Common use of Leave for Union Functions Clause in Contracts

Leave for Union Functions. Official representatives of the Union, to a maximum of three (3), will be granted leave of absence without pay to attend Union conventions or perform any other function on behalf of the Union and its affiliates providing not more than one (1) Union representative in each category by work area shall be away at the same time. No leave under this Clause shall exceed five (5) working days plus reasonable travel time if necessary. Such leaves of absence shall not affect an employee's benefits contained within this Agreement.
