Leave for Bereavement. If a death occurs in the immediate family of an Employee when the Employee is at work, or scheduled to go to work, then the Employee shall be granted bereavement leave with pay for the remainder of the Employee’s tour of duty for that day.
Leave for Bereavement. Employees shall be granted up to five (5) days for bereavement in the case of a death of a member of the employee’s immediate family, up to a maximum of ten (10) days per year for multiple occurrences annually without loss of pay. Immediate family is defined as spouse, children, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, grandchildren and like relations established through the marriage of the current spouse or persons living in the home. Bereavement leave for each occurrence must be completed within ten (10) calendar days of the death of the individual with the exception of leave for the death of an employee’s spouse, child, mother or father which must be completed during that school year. Bereavement leave is non-cumulative. Of the ten (10) day maximum, two (2) days may be used in the case of a death outside the immediate family. If an employee believes a particular situation warrants bereavement leave not already granted in this section, the employee may request additional bereavement leave from the Superintendent who is authorized to review and grant such additional leave. In accordance with this Agreement, applicable law including the Federal Employees Family Friendly Leave Act, and applicable regulations, an emp1oyee may be granted any combination of annual, sick, or leave without pay, when there has been a death in the employee’s family. The definition of family includes the following: a spouse, children (including adopted and xxxxxx), parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, in-laws (mother, father, sister, brother), and any individual related by blood or affinity whose close association with the employee is the equivalent of a family relationship.
Leave for Bereavement. 13-6.1 A regular employee shall be granted necessary leave of absence without loss of pay, not to exceed three (3) work days (five (5) days if travel that exceeds a 500-mile radius is required) on account of the death of a member of his/her/their immediate family. 13-6.2 Member of the immediate family is defined as: mother, mother-in-law, father, father-in-law, spouse, registered domestic partner, son, daughter, brother, sister, grandmother, grandmother- in-law, grandfather, grandfather-in-law, xxxxxxxxxx, grandchild-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in- law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law of the employee, any person for whom the unit member has or has had legal guardianship or any relative living or who has lived in the immediate household of the employee.
13-6.3 No deduction shall be made from the salary of an employee granted such leave nor shall such leave be deducted from other leaves granted by the Board.

Leave for Bereavement. 6 Each employee shall be entitled to a maximum of five (5) days leave with pay for absence 7 caused by death of an employee’s immediate relative or person with whom the employee has 8 had a close relationship with for several years. Such bereavement leave shall not be deducted 9 from sick leave. Bereavement leave is noncumulative. Up to three (3) additional days of 10 bereavement leave may be taken under extenuating circumstances. These three (3) days shall be 11 deducted from sick leave. Approval shall be made by Human Resources.
Leave for Bereavement. 14.2.1. Leave of absence necessitated by death of a spouse, parent or child shall be granted by the School Division, with pay and benefits, for a time up to and including five (5) days.
Leave for Bereavement. In accordance with this Agreement and applicable regulations, and subject to workload consideration and staffing needs, an employee will be granted any combination of annual, sick, LWOP, or religious compensatory leave for up to five workdays where there has been a death in the employee’s immediate family. The definition of the immediate family shall include the following: Mother, Father, Stepmother, Stepfather, Mother-in- law, Father-in-law, Spouse, Brother, Sister, Brother-in-law, Sister-in-law, Child, Grandparents, and Grandparent-in-law.
Leave for Bereavement a. A covered full-time employee may use up to 104 hours (13 days) of his/her sick leave each leave year for family care and bereavement purposes. Part-time employees and employees with uncommon tours of duty are also covered. They may use an amount of leave not to exceed the number of sick leave hours normally accrued by that employee in a leave year. For example, an employee scheduled to work 56/60/72 hours per week, could use 112, 120, or 144 hours. "Family Member" is defined as:
1) Spouse; and parents thereof;
2) Children, including adopted children, and spouses thereof;
3) Parents;
4) Brothers and sisters, and xxxxxxx thereof; and
5) Any individual related by affinity, i.e., whose association with the employee is the equivalent to one of the family relationships identified above.
