Leave from duties is where the Xxxx of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs approves a graduate student to decline an appointment without forfeiting their priority for reappointment as set out in Article 13.01. The priority shall not be extended for the period of leave from duties unless the Parties explicitly agree to do so in writing.

Leave may be requested for the following reasons: (i) Academic research, exchange, and co-op positions. (ii) Certified medical leave. (iii) Any other reasons where the Academic Supervisor and/or the Department Head provides reasons in writing as to how the leave would benefit the student academically. (iv) Parental leave, as per article 22.08 (b). (v) The employee has received employment as Contract Instructor at Carleton pursuant to Article 3.

Applications for leave from duties shall not be unreasonably denied. Applications for leave from duties to take employment as a Contract Instructor at Carleton pursuant to Article 3.02 will be automatically granted. Grievances concerning and denial of such leave may be presented directly as Step 2 of the grievance procedure in Article 10.

  • ABSENCE FROM DUTY Unless a provision of this agreement states otherwise (e.g. sick leave), an employee not attending for duty will lose their pay for the actual time of such non- attendance.

  • Termination of Serviced Duties At the time all of the applicable Seller’s obligations under any Serviced Appointment are terminated and/or of no further force and effect (the “Appointment Expiration Time”), including upon or following any (a) valid termination or removal of the applicable Seller from all Corporate Trust Capacities with respect to a Serviced Appointment, whether as a Succeeded Appointment or otherwise, or (b) with the prior consent of the applicable Purchaser, resignation by, assignment by or succession of the applicable Seller from all Corporate Trust Capacities with respect to a Serviced Appointment, whether as a Succeeded Appointment or otherwise, the Purchasers (i) shall have no further Serviced Duties under this Agreement in connection with such Appointments and (ii) shall not be responsible hereunder for any of the duties, obligations or liabilities related to such Appointments accruing or arising on or after the Appointment Expiration Time, or for any performance, duties or obligations related thereto arising prior to, but requiring performance after, the Appointment Expiration Time, in each case, without limiting the Purchasers’ obligations under the Purchase Agreement. The parties shall execute, or procure the execution of, such documents and instruments as may be reasonably necessary to give effect to this Section 3.7.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK In case an employee is unavoidably kept from work he will not be discriminated against. An employee detained from work on account of sickness or for any other good cause must, if possible, advise the Xxxxxxx prior to the commencement of his/her shift.

  • INCOME FROM EMPLOYMENT 1. Subject to the provisions of Articles 16, 18 and 19, salaries, wages and other similar remuneration derived by a resident of a Contracting State in respect of an employment shall be taxable only in that State unless the employment is exercised in the other Contracting State. If the employment is so exercised, such remuneration as is derived therefrom may be taxed in that other State. 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph 1, remuneration derived by a resident of a Contracting State in respect of an employment exercised in the other Contracting State shall be taxable only in the first-mentioned State if: a) the recipient is present in the other State for a period or periods not exceeding in the aggregate 183 days in any twelve month period commencing or ending in the fiscal year concerned, and b) the remuneration is paid by, or on behalf of, an employer who is not a resident of the other State, and c) the remuneration is not borne by a permanent establishment or a fixed base which the employer has in the other State. 3. Notwithstanding the preceding provisions of this Article, remuneration derived in respect of an employment exercised aboard a ship or aircraft operated in international traffic by an enterprise of a Contracting State may be taxed in that State.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.

  • Return from Leave of Absence (a) Before a Nurse may return to work from a leave granted under Article 9.00, she or he must provide a minimum of four (4) weeks written notice of the specific date of his or her return to work, or such shorter time as mutually agreed. (b) Upon return from an approved Unpaid Leave of Absence, a Nurse shall be reinstated to her or his former position unless the position has been discontinued, in which case the Nurse shall be appointed to an equivalent position. (c) This clause requiring four (4) weeks written notice, does not apply to other leaves granted by an express provision of this Collective Agreement with different requirements for written notice.

  • Distributions on Account of Separation from Service If and to the extent required to comply with Section 409A, no payment or benefit required to be paid under this Agreement on account of termination of the Executive’s employment shall be made unless and until the Executive incurs a “separation from service” within the meaning of Section 409A.

  • Termination of Services 6.2. In no event shall Provider dispose of data pursuant to this provision unless and until Provider has received affirmative written confirmation from LEA that data will not be transferred to a separate account.
