Leave, Parental for Maternity or Adoption. A member who qualified for maternity or adoption leave is also entitled to thirty-five (35) consecutive weeks of parental leave without pay. The parental leave is in conjunction with the maternity or adoption leave and must be taken in one continuous period.
Leave, Parental for Maternity or Adoption. A member who qualified for maternity or adoption leave is also entitled to parental leave without pay. The length and timing of the leave shall be consistent with the provisions in The Act. The parental leave is in conjunction with the maternity or adoption leave and must be taken in one continuous period.

Related to Leave, Parental for Maternity or Adoption

  • Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Leave An Employee who is expecting the birth or adoption of a child shall be entitled to maternity/paternity/adoption leave without pay, provided she presents a medical certificate confirming the probable date of confinement, or in the case of adoption, gives the Employer notice of eligibility. Except in extenuating circumstances, the notice shall be submitted in writing at least twenty-eight (28) days in advance of the leave and shall specify the probable date of commencement and the anticipated length of leave. The following conditions shall apply:

  • Maternity/Parental/Adoption Leave Maternity/Parental/Adoption leave shall be granted as a right as per the Employment Standards Act.

  • Supplemental Employment Benefit for Maternity and Parental Leave 8.5.1 Effective April 1, 2002, when on maternity or parental leave, an employee will receive a supplemental payment added to Employment Insurance benefits as follows:

  • LEAVE OF ABSENCE - UNION BUSINESS Employees who have been elected or appointed to carry out business authorized by the Union on a full-time basis shall be granted a Leave of Absence for this purpose. The Union will advise the Company of the name(s) of such employee(s), the term of such leave, and the specific purpose. The Union shall repay the Company for the Company's costs incurred in Employee Benefit Plans and the employee(s) shall continue to pay their contributions directly to the Company. The Company shall provide such employees with free and reduced-rate transportation in accordance with Company regulations. Such employees shall continue to accrue seniority and service while on leave of absence.

  • Leave of Absence for Union Business (a) The Employer shall grant leaves of absence to employees to attend Union Conventions, negotiations of the Collective Agreement with the Employer and other Union business. The Union agrees that such leave will not unduly affect the proper operations or be detrimental to the proficient operations of the Employer.

  • Parental/Adoption Leave (a) The Employer shall grant to an Employee who becomes a parent, provided the Employee has been in its employ at least thirteen (13) weeks immediately prior to the requested start date of the leave, a Parental/Adoption Leave of thirty-five (35) or thirty-seven (37) weeks or such shorter leave as the Employee requests.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Pregnancy/Parental/Adoption Leave Pregnancy Leave will be in accordance with the current Employment Standards Act (Pregnancy and Parental Leave) at the time of application. (See Appendix A)

  • Maternity Adoption and Parental Leave The following in part reflects the provisions of the Employment Standards Act on these matters. In all cases of dispute, and where the Act as amended from time to time is superior, the provisions of the Act will prevail.
