Those emergencies shall be unforeseen situations which keep a teacher from being physically present for work and that are not covered in other leave policy provisionspay. The Superintendent also has the authority to grant additional leave at full salary pay deduction (1/186th of USD Nocontracted salary amount, if contract calls for 186 days) if he/she feels a need warrants it. 507 Abuse of the District’s leave policy shall receive within be considered insubordination on the part of the staff member. The Superintendent may request a doctor’s statement after five (5) days consecutive sick days. 5. Teachers in USD No. 507 having used all of his/her personal business leave and any accrued comp time may use up to two .5 F.T.E. (2) days of accrued sick leave for the birth of a grandchild.
6. Leave as required by Family Medical Leave Act (FMLAFull Time Equivalency) will comply with federal law receive a prorated leave benefit. Temporary employees and part time employees (reference xxx.xxx.xxx)less than one-half time) shall not be entitled to leave privileges unless specifically stated. All leave days shall be expended in the order in which they were accrued.
7. An appeal for leave involving extraordinary circumstances may be made to the Superintendent. Section C Leave without Pay Leave without pay may be used only after all other options have been exhausted unless approved by the Superintendent.
