Length of Academic Year Contract. All full-time professional teaching faculty members shall be contracted to provide service to the College for 160 reporting days/32 weeks. All teaching faculty members shall begin their contractual assignment on the first scheduled reporting day. Full-time professional counselors, professional librarians, and professional service personnel shall be assigned to work 200 reporting days anytime during the twelve (12) months following the first day of the contractual year. In addition, professional counselors, professional librarians, and professional service personnel may be assigned involuntary overload up to a maximum of twenty- four (24) additional reporting days.

Length of Academic Year Contract. Association Members will begin their contractual assignment each Fall and Spring Semester with pre-semester workdays called "Opening Days", which will be dedicated to instructional preparation, advising, committee work, department meetings, discipline/program management, Education Association meetings, and professional development. In the Fall, Association members will participate in Opening Days activities the week before classes begin, Tuesday through Friday, with Friday reserved for the Education Association meeting and instructional preparation. In the Spring, Opening Days activities will occur on the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before classes begin. Lecturers will be appointed for a 12-month period that begins in August and ends the following August. The Librarian will be appointed for 37 weeks with a regular work week of 35 hours.
Length of Academic Year Contract. All Full-time Instructional Faculty Members shall be contracted to provide service to the College for the Fall and Spring Academic Semesters as defined by the Annual Academic Calendar. The Fall change will begin with Fall Semester 2019. To launch each semester well, all Full-time Faculty Members shall begin their contractual assignment each Fall four and a half to five (4.5 to 5) work days before the first day of classes and each Spring Semester three (3) work days before the first day of classes. Work days not dedicated to instruction will be used for advising, committee work, discipline/program management, and professional development. The first Monday of Fall work days will be reserved for Opening Day activities, with Tuesday reserved for Committee meetings. Thursdays will be for the Association meeting, a half day for Full-time Faculty driven professional development, and Department meetings. Lecturers will be paid over an academic year that begins in August, and ends the following August. The librarian shall be assigned to thirty-seven (37) weeks (one thousand two hundred ninety-five hours – 1295 hours) with a regular work week of thirty-five (35) hours.

  • SUB-CONTRACTING No performance of this Contract or any portion thereof may be subcontracted by the Contractor without the express written consent of the County. Any attempt by the Contractor to subcontract any performance of this Contract without the express written consent of the County shall be invalid and shall constitute a breach of this Contract. In the event that the Contractor is authorized by the County to subcontract, this Contract shall take precedence over the terms of the Contract between Contractor and subcontractor, and shall incorporate by reference the terms of this Contract. The County shall look to the Contractor for performance and indemnification and not deal directly with any subcontractor. All work performed by a subcontractor must meet the approval of the County of Orange.
