Spring Semester. Cancellation of this contract, for any reason, more than (5) five business days after receiving a room assignment will result in a Liquidated Fee of $500 to be placed on the student’s account.
Spring Semester. The following duties are to be performed during the Spring semester of the candidate’s first contract period:
1. the committee shall work with the candidate to fulfill the written course of action for the candidate to improve in recognized areas of weakness, if needed. If improvement is made by the unit member, the committee shall meet to review and modify, if needed, the employment recommendation presented in the Fall semester;
2. the committee shall submit its employment recommendation, along with copies of appropriate substantiating documents, and with a cover letter explaining the recommendation to the Superintendent/President. The recommendation shall be based upon the unanimous opinion of the committee. If there is a difference of opinion among members of the committee, the recommendation of the majority shall be submitted. The committee member in the minority may, if s/he chooses, submit a letter of objection with supporting documentation; and
3. the Superintendent/President shall present the employment recommendation to the Board of Trustees. Based upon the employment recommendation of the Individual Tenure Review Committee, and in accordance with Education Code §87608, the governing board shall elect one of the following options prior to March 15:
a. not to enter into a contract for the following academic year;
b. to enter into a second contract for the following academic year;
c. to employ the candidate as a tenured employee for all subsequent academic years.
Spring Semester. Transcript or grade card must be submitted by July 15 following the successful completion of the spring semester.
Spring Semester. When the evaluation in the Fall Semester results in a rating of “needs continued evaluation”, another evaluation will be performed in the Spring Semester following the same evaluation process as in the fall semester. If a sole evaluator was used for the fall semester, the chair, faculty leader, or designee will convene a Phase I evaluation panel using the guideline specified in section I.A of this article. If a panel was used for the fall semester, the same panel will perform the evaluation during the Spring Semester. For the purpose of this article the week of spring break shall not be counted as a week in the timeline.
Spring Semester. From the first official opening date of the residence halls or the date the student takes possession of a room key, whichever occurs first: After this date, the contract cannot be cancelled and the student is obligated to pay the entire year’s contract charges. The $150 Housing Application Fee is not refunded. Should a cancellation occur after this date due to academic withdrawal, the student will be assessed the prorated cost of their housing and meal assignments through the cancellation date of the contract. No refunds will be issued after the 0% refund date based on the withdrawal schedule distributed by the Lander University Office of the Registrar.
Spring Semester. Bargaining unit members shall receive their first paycheck by February 15th and thereafter they shall be paid on the 15th and the end of each month, until the end of the semester. If a bargaining unit member begins teaching a class after the start of the semester, they will receive their first check by the pay date following the end of the 4th week following the day of their first class. In order for a bargaining unit member to receive the last check of the semester, all end of semester paperwork including final grades, must be submitted.
Spring Semester i. Contract housing begins for all on Saturday, January 16, 2021 and ends Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 12:00 noon, or 24 hours after last final exam, whichever comes sooner.
ii. Spring Early Arrival
1. All new students may move in early on Monday, January 11, 2021, for an additional charge of $35.00 per day.
2. New international students may move in on Saturday, January 9, 2021, for an additional fee of $35.00 per day.
3. Early arrival charges will be added to your spring U-Bill and are non-negotiable.
