The parties recognise the critical importance of working with the community and stakeholders in undertaking environmental watering and acknowledge the responsibility of a range of government and non-government organisations to actively engage with communities. The parties commit to a collaborative approach to working with the community, built on respecting each other's planning and consultation processes, roles and responsibilities, and those of other agencies involved in environmental water management in South Australia. The CEWH will work with ALT to consult via the established mechanisms for consultation where it is appropriate and it is demonstrated additional consultation is required. The CEWH will inform the ALT of its specific and broader engagement activities within South Australia to ensure consistency in messaging, management of expectations, and provide opportunities to use existing consultative mechanisms. Engagement with other environmental water managers and scientists The parties recognise the critical importance of sharing information to facilitate a collaborative and effective approach to the management of environmental water. The parties agree to: facilitate reasonable access to data, information, models and other available knowledge to assist them to meet their obligations, as required, in ways that are consistent with all relevant requirements, arrangements and agreements in relation to intellectual property, privacy, information and data; and communicate regularly through teleconferences and face-to-face catch-ups, involving other wetland managers as required. Local engagement. The research team will work with local organization to inform them of ongoing studies and discuss closer interaction. Potential interactions include have the researchers work with local government and non-profits to identify target locations in watersheds to demo tracking technologies, resulting in actual source-identification and elimination outcomes in targeted jurisdictions, and, at the same time, help to increase technical capacity of local participants.
