Union Advised of Changes The Union Secretary-Business Manager shall be informed in writing of any change contemplated by the Employer which shall affect the terms of this Agreement.
Local Union Leave Upon written request, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees for Union business in accordance with the following provisions:
Local Union Observer The President of the Union or their designate may, upon an applicant's request, sit as an observer on a selection committee for posted positions within the bargaining unit. The observer will be a disinterested party.
Union Stewards (a) The Hospital agrees to recognize Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement.
Local Coordinator Leave The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses elected to the position of Local Co-ordinator. Subject to reasonable notice, it is understood and agreed that a Local Co-ordinator shall be granted such leave(s) as she or he may require fulfilling the duties of the position.
CHECK-OFF UNION DUES 5.1 The Corporation shall, subject to the conditions and exceptions set forth hereunder, deduct on the payroll for the first pay period of each month from wages due and payable to each employee coming within the scope of this Collective Agreement, an amount equal to the prevailing monthly dues of the Union and shall remit the same by cheque (accompanied by a statement of deductions from individuals) to the Union Local Secretary- Treasurer, not later than twenty (20) days following the pay period in which the deductions are made.
Union Management Relations 4.1 All collective bargaining with respect to hours and general working conditions shall be conducted by authorized representatives of the Union and authorized representatives of the Employer.
UNION MANAGEMENT CONSULTATION COMMITTEE 28.00 The Union and the Employer agree to establish/maintain a Union Management Consultation Committee which shall be comprised of two (2) representatives of the Local Union and two (2) representatives of the Employer. A person designated by the Union and the Employer shall alternate as the Chairperson.
Union May Institute Grievances The Union and its representatives shall have the right to originate a grievance on behalf of an employee, or group of employees and to seek adjustment with the Employer in the manner provided in the grievance procedure. Such a grievance shall commence at Step 1.
Joint Union/Management Committee It shall be appropriate for either the Union or the University to request that a Joint Union/Management committee be convened, with Environmental Health and Safety as a participating member, to discuss health and safety concerns and to explore options for addressing those concerns through appropriate training or other approaches.
