Union Management Relations. 2.01 All collective bargaining with respect to wages, hours and other working conditions of employment shall be conducted by authorized representatives of the Union and authorized representatives of the Employer.
Union Management Relations. 3.4.1 Within (1) month of the signing of this Agreement, the Labour Management Committee shall be constituted and shall meet as often as is necessary, at the request of either party, to discuss, make recommendations and resolve issues including, but not confined to: (a) matters of Employer and employee relations arising out of this Agreement; (b) correcting or alleviating conditions which might cause misunderstandings or grievances; (c) reviewing suggestions from employees for improving practices or service. 3.4.2 The Labour Management Committee shall be composed of three (3) representatives of the College and three (3) representatives of the Union with alternative representatives invited as necessary by either party as resource persons. 3.4.3 The College shall, for a maximum of three (3) employees, pay the substitution costs directly incurred by attendance at Labour Management Meetings or during the discharge of any business authorised by the Labour Management Committee. The Union shall bear the related costs of attendance.
Union Management Relations. All formal negotiations or bargaining with respect to the terms and conditions of this Agreement shall be conducted by authorized representatives of the Union and such authorized representatives of the City. Agreements reached as a result of such negotiations shall become effective only when signed by the authorized representatives of the parties.
Union Management Relations. 6.01 The Parties agree to form a Union/Management Relations Committee, which shall be comprised of three (3) representatives of the Employer and three (3) representatives of the Union and additionally the CUPE National Representative. The Committee shall meet every third (3rd) month, but may meet, upon consensus, more frequently if necessary. Such consensus shall not be unreasonably withheld. 6.02 The Committee shall concern itself with matters of mutual interest concerning the administration of this Agreement and to facilitate productive discussion the Parties will agree to an agenda prior to each meeting. 6.03 Chairing of meetings shall rotate between the Union and the Employer. Minutes of these meetings shall be prepared jointly, and copies provided to Committee members within two (2) weeks of the conclusion of the meeting provided that such minutes or their contents shall be entirely on a without prejudice basis. 6.04 Committee members shall be paid for time spent in attendance at Committee meetings convened under Article 6.01. 6.05 There will be no Union activity conducted during working hours on the Employer's premises except in connection with the handling of grievances, during contract negotiations as agreed to by the Employer and other activities as approved by the Employer. 6.06 The Employer shall recognize three (3) joint committees: the Joint Health and Safety Committee, the Job Evaluation Committee and the Joint Union/Management Relations Committee which will deal with all other issues not related to health and safety and job evaluation. 6.07 Upon written request, signed by an official Representative of the Union, no more than five (5) members at any one time may be granted absences without pay for the purposes of attending union sponsored events. Such absences shall not exceed in total fifteen (15) working days per such Employee per calendar year. Requests must be received in writing by the Executive Director at least two (2) weeks in advance of the planned date for commencement of the leave. Requests made less than two (2) weeks in advance may be granted at the sole discretion of the Employer. It is understood that authorization will be conditional upon maintaining a high standard of service and efficiency in the operation of the Employer.
Union Management Relations. 19.01 The parties to this Agreement pledge to work toward the greatest possible degree of consultation and cooperation believing that the following concepts provide a fundamental framework for improved labour-management relations: a) the industrial enterprise is an economically characterized work community of capital-investors and workers under the leadership of a management; b) the economic character springs from a continuous striving toward efficient use of scarce resources, energy, and environment, and in the adequate development of research, production, and marketing; c) the enterprise requires authority relationships under a strong central leadership or management; d) a strong management does not discourage cooperation but stimulates it, recognizing that while leadership without labour can do nothing, labour without management cannot survive. 19.02 a) In order to further the aims of the enterprise, the parties agree to schedule Union-Management meetings every three (3) months, or as required, during the life of this Agreement. The meeting shall serve as a forum for discussion and consultation about policies and practices not necessarily covered by this Collective Agreement. The areas for discussion shall include, but not be limited to: i) improving job site labour and material handling efficiency; ii) hiring policies; iii) discipline and discharge policies; iv) training and promotion; v) safety measures; and vi) matters that affect the working conditions of the employees.
Union Management Relations. 8.1 The Union will supply the University with the names of its officers and stewards, and the University will supply, upon request, the names of the supervisory personnel and their functional responsibilities. 8.2 The Union shall have the right at any time to have the assistance of representatives of the Canadian Union of Public Employees or any other advisors when dealing or negotiating with the University. Such representatives or advisors shall have general access to the campus in order to investigate and assist in the settlement of a grievance. 8.3 As soon as possible after a written request by the Union, the University shall provide to the Union reasonable technical information pertaining to the bargaining unit required by the Union such as number of positions in the bargaining unit, job classifications, and wage rates. 8.4 The University will provide University space for Union meetings and educational functions, subject to University policy, procedures, and scheduling restrictions. 8.5 The University agrees to invite and accept representatives to ad hoc committees on the same basis as other on-campus unions, as deemed appropriate by the University. 8.6 The University will provide reasonable access to the internal mail service, including electronic mail, free of charge. The Union will pay the cost of connecting its hardware to the network. The University will permit the Union access to disk space to establish its own home page. 8.7 The University will provide the Union with one bulletin board for use in either the Laboratory Building, the Classroom Building, or the Education Building, upon which the Union may post notices and other similar information. 8.8 The University will provide the Union with self-contained office space on the main campus. 8.9 The University agrees to provide the Union with an alphabetical list of employees in the bargaining unit, indicating address, email, employment location, academic or administrative unit, classification, term of employment, and wage rate. This information will be supplied, as it exists on September 30 and on January 31 each year, and will be forwarded to the Union in each case within two weeks. Notwithstanding, every effort will be made to supply the list as quickly as possible.

Union Management Relations. 18.01 Union/Management Meetings - It is recognized that meetings between the Company and the Union are essential to the maintenance of good relations between employee and employer and the establishment of mutual confidence and trust. To this end, joint meetings will be held on a monthly basis between Management and not more than two (2) Union Representatives to promote better communication, mutual respect and understanding, to discuss ways and means of improving working conditions, methods, operating efficiency, maintenance of good morale and to provide for advance discussion of changes affecting the work or working conditions of employees. Such Union/Management meetings however, will not be considered as being in lieu of the grievance procedure.
Union Management Relations. The City and the Union are desirous of effecting significant improvements in labor relations between management and employees represented by Local 1909. In the event the services of a third party facilitator are used in a effort to achieve this end it is agreed and understood that the third party facilitator will not serve as a witness for or resource person to either the City or the Union in any labor relations dispute, arbitration proceeding, or litigation involving the City of Hayward and Local 1909.
