Lower Mainland. The area of BC inclusive of: Abbotsford, Aldergrove, Anmore, Belcarra, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, Delta, Xxxxxxx (City and Township), Maple Ridge, Mission, New Westminster, North Vancouver (City and District), Pitt Xxxxxxx, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, West Vancouver and White Rock.

Lower Mainland. Daily Travel Zone: On those projects that are outside the free zone, the Employer shall have the choice of paying daily travel allowance or subsistence. Where the Employer elects daily travel allowance, the employee shall receive applicable Transportation Rate per road kilometer to and from the project to the edge of the free zone, for each day worked or reported for work. Where the Employer provides transportation, the daily travel allowance will be paid one way.

Lower Mainland. When travelling in a taxi, crummy, company supplied or like vehicle outside of regular straight time shift hours, such non-operating travel time shall be paid at one and one half (1%) times the otherwise applicable straight time hourly wage rate for the driver, and one and one-quarter (1%) times the otherwise applicable straight time hourly wage rate for the passenger(s). Only one (1) employee shall be paid as a driver for any single trip, and the Employer shall retain the right to designate such driver at its sole discretion. Such vehicles will conform to public transportation standards with full insurance coverage and operated in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations.
Lower Mainland. Woodfibre (Only): When the camp is open, the employee shall stay in the camp. If the camp is full or closed, the employee shall choose either daily travel allowance pursuant to 19.01(b)(i), or subsistence allowance with no daily travel allowance provided from the temporary domicile established. When the camp is not available to the prep crew, employees may chose between the daily travel or the subsistence allowance. If rooms become available in the camp, all employees will be required to move into the camp. If there is to be a shortage of rooms in the camp the prep crew will not be required to move into the camp. The employee shall receive ten dollars ($10.00) each way where usage of the ferry is required to go to and from work.

All travelling time connected with the employee’s job, except going to and returning home from work, shall be paid for. In those cases where an employee is assigned outside his or her bargaining unit, the mileage and time compensation would only apply if the distance is greater than the employee’s regular presumed work location.
