Common use of Lunch or Meal Periods Clause in Contracts

Lunch or Meal Periods. Lunch or meal periods will be uninterrupted, except in cases of emergency. Should an employee be recalled to duty during her mealtime, additional time shall be provided later in the shift. Proper facilities will be provided for employees who bring their own lunch, and locker facilities will be provided. The Employer agrees to investigate, on an individual home basis, the possibility of providing meals for employees working the night shift subject to the following conditions: (a) Reasonable notice will be required by the dietary department from employees wishing to have meals provided; and (b) Employees will be required to pay for meals in advance and such payment will be non-refundable.
