MATERNITY SICK/PARENTAL LEAVE. Use: An Educational Support Professional, at his/her options, may use available sick leave, subject to the provisions of this section, for periods of illness relating to pregnancy, miscarriage, or child birth. Such an Educational Support Professional shall notify the Superintendent in writing no later than the end of the 7th month of pregnancy or as reasonable possible, indicating the Educational Support Professionals’ intention to use sick leave and also at such time shall provide a physician’s statement indicating the estimated date of delivery of the child and estimated time of confinement.

  • Parental Leave (a) An employee who becomes a parent, and who has been employed for at least thirteen (13) weeks immediately preceding the date of the birth of child or the date the child first came into care or custody of the employee, shall be entitled to parental leave.

  • Paid Parental Leave 44.2 In addition, if the Employee is entitled to paid parental leave under the Paid Parental Leave Act 2010 (Cth) (PPL Act) as the primary carer of the child:

  • Maternity and Parental Leave Employees are eligible for unpaid leave of absence from employment subject to the conditions in this article. Every employee who intends to take a leave of absence under this article will give at least four weeks' notice in writing to the Employer unless there is a valid reason why such notice cannot be given and will inform the Employer in writing of the length of leave intended to be taken. Each employee who wishes to change the effective date of approved leave will give four weeks' notice of such change unless there is a valid reason why such notice cannot be given.
