Paid Parental Leave definition

Paid Parental Leave. Employees who meet the eligibility requirements of the Seattle Municipal Code Chapter 4.27, “Paid Parental Leave,” may take leave for bonding with their new child.
Paid Parental Leave means three workweeks or one hundred twenty hours of paid leave for a biological/adoptive same sex parent not covered by paid maternity leave to care for and bond with a newborn/adopted child. This leave must be used within six months following the birth or adoption of a child. This leave may be scheduled on an intermittent basis with the approval of the supervisor and the chief human resources officer(“CHRO”) or the CHRO designee.
Paid Parental Leave may take leave for bonding with their new child.

Examples of Paid Parental Leave in a sentence

  • Paid Parental Leave PPNNE will provide up to eight (8) weeks of paid leave at 100% wage replacement to recover from the birth of a child, or for bonding time in the event of a birth, adoption, xxxxxx placement, surrogacy, or other court-order placement of a child.

  • Effective January 1, 2024, the county will provide up to six (6) weeks (240 hours maximum) of Paid Parental Leave (pro-rated for part-time employees) for the birth or adoption of a child in accordance with County policy.

  • The complete sunset of Paid Parental Leave shall occur on 12/31/2025.
