Disability Sick LeaveIn addition to regular sick leave provided under Section 4(a) above, an employee who meets all of the foregoing conditions of Section 4(a) shall also be entitled to receive up to 23 days of paid sick leave in each year of employment, measured from date of hire, for time during which they are unable to work due to bona fide disability, as evidenced by a written statement from their doctor, except that employees who have less than twelve (12) months of service with the same Employer or their successor or predecessor shall only be entitled to receive up to ten (10) days of paid disability sick leave. At the time of the request for the sick leave, the employee requesting leave must provide a Medical Statement with the date of their expected return to work. Under this subsection, "bona fide disability" shall mean any verifiable medical condition which requires hospitalization or outpatient surgery and shall not include routine illness. After an employee has used 50% of their available regular and accumulated sick leave under Section 4(a) above, the employee may then apply for use of any available disability sick leave. In the case of a pandemic, as defined by the World Health Organization, where Federal or State laws do not cover paid sick leave, employees would be allowed to utilize the above provision if rendered medically unable to work due to that declared pandemic.
Disability Sick Leave. 1. Every full-time bargaining unit member shall be entitled to twelve (12) days per year sick leave, this leave being allowable for absence due to illness, injury, or because of quarantine due to another’s illness, or for absence due to a physical disability. 2. Every part-time bargaining unit member shall be entitled to sick leave, to be prorated in accordance with the average number of hours per day worked and work year, excluding overtime. This leave is defined as in Section Number 1, “Disability - Sick Leave”. 3. Sick leave shall be credited on July 1st of each year, and notification of entitled and accrued sick leave shall be given to the bargaining unit member on July 1st. 4. A bargaining unit member shall be allowed to use sick leave in connection with a birth, adoption, or xxxxxx care, or to care for a child, parent, or spouse with a health condition, as allowed by Labor Code section 233. 5. Sick leave may be taken at any time, provided that the new employees with probationary status may use only six days of paid sick leave during their initial probationary periods. 6. Pay for any day of sick leave shall be the same pay the employee would have received if he had worked that day, except as provided by Education Code section 88036 for part-time personnel. 7. In order to receive compensation while absent on sick leave, the employee must notify his/her supervisor of the absence within the first working hour of the first day absent, unless conditions make notification impossible. The burden of proof of impossible conditions shall be upon the employee. 8. At least one day prior to his expected return to work, the employee shall notify his supervisor in order that any substitute or limited term employee may be terminated. If the employee fails to notify his supervisor and both the employee and the substitute report, the substitute is entitled to the assignment, and the employee shall not receive pay for that day.
Disability Sick Leave. Eligibility for Disability Leave as provided herein will be restricted to only those Unit Members who have been employed in a paid status by the Board for more than twelve (12) consecutive months on a 1.00 FTE basis.
Disability Sick Leave. Section A. Sick leave shall be allowed for the personal illness or disability of the employee at the earned rate of one half day per month, with unlimited accumulation, and will be credited the last business day of each month. Section B. A physical examination may be required at Board expense where absence from work is excessive or exceeds ten working days in succession. A certificate signed by a licensed M.D., D.O. and/or physician of the Employer's choice may be required. Section C. Each employee who is eligible for sick-day pay shall receive an account of his/her sick leave in July. Section D. Employees who run out of sick days and have not returned to work will have all insurance benefits terminated on the last day of the month the sick days run out, unless they are on an approved medical leave of absence. Section E. When a regular employee has depleted all accumulated sick days, he/she will request, when physically or mentally able, in writing, a medical leave of absence for up to one year, without pay, for extended illness or disability. If the employee is physically or mentally unable to make this request, the Family and Medical Leave Act provisions will apply. Medical leave requests must be received within seven days after all sick days have been used. An application for such leave must include effective date of leave and expected date of return to work. Medical evidence must be submitted to support the leave request. A doctor's release to return to regular assignment must be submitted prior to returning to work. If an unpaid medical leave of absence is approved, insurance benefits will continue until the end of the month following the month in which sick days were depleted. Section F. The Buildings and Operations Office shall be called in the event of absence due to illness at least one (1) hour prior to the beginning of the employee's regular work shift. Section G. The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 will be controlling in those individual cases where its provisions of benefits exceed those of this Contract.
Disability Sick Leave. All hourly and flat rate employees shall accrue disability leave. Disability leave shall be accumulated at the rate of one day for every 12 days worked up to a maximum of 100 days (800 hours). Xxxx leave with pay shall be allowed whenever an employee’s absence is found to have been due to the employee’s illness and/or disability which prevented his/her attendance at school and performance of duties on that day or days.

Disability Sick LeaveIt is agreed that an employee with at least five (5) years’ service who has and uses at least fifteen (15) accumulated sick days including the present year’s credit on one hospitalization and/or disability recuperation as evidenced by a written doctor’s statement, shall be granted up to fifteen (15) additional paid sick days for such hospitalization and/or disability recuperation, but not to exceed thirty (30) days in total.

Disability Sick Leave. If Employee becomes sick or disabled during the term of this contract, then he shall be entitled to receive compensation at the then current minimum annual salary while he is sick or disabled until the end of the term of this Agreement, but not beyond the end of the contract term, to-wit, June 30, 1997.
