Medical and Injury. In the event of an injury or illness of the Athlete, the NSO will:
Medical and Injury. The NSO will assist the Athlete in maintaining health or returning to health, relevant for high level sports performance.
Medical and Injury. A. All athletes competing in World Triathlon sanctioned events (Junior, U23, or Elite in triathlon, paratriathlon or multisport) or seeking an Ironman professional licence must submit to Triathlon Canada the World Triathlon pre−participation medical exam (PPE) as required by World Triathlon and Ironman
B. In the event of an emergency situation where undue delay for the purpose of obtaining consent prior to medical treatment could endanger the Athlete's health, Triathlon Canada, or its agent (coach or other designated person) will adhere to the following procedure:
i. Triathlon Canada or its agent will make all reasonable efforts to contact the Athlete's family, designated guardian, or other individual previously identified by the Athlete as an emergency contact, to obtain consent for medical treatment
ii. If such efforts are unsuccessful, or if in the opinion of a duly qualified medical practitioner immediate medical treatment is urgently required, then if the Athlete is of legal age at the time of signing this Agreement, the Athlete hereby agrees (and if the Athlete is not of legal age at the time of signing this Agreement, the Athlete’s parent or legal guardian who has signed this Agreement similarly agrees) that Triathlon Canada or its agent is authorized to consent to such medical treatment or procedures which in the opinion of the duly qualified medical practitioner may be necessary. National Team, National Development Team, and Major Games eligible athletes only.
C. In the event of an injury or illness, the Athlete will: i. notify the HPD in writing within 48 hours, or as soon as possible thereafter, of becoming aware of any injury or illness that might prevent the Athlete from fulfilling any obligations under this Agreement or approved YTP;
Medical and Injury. I. Provide the Athlete with access to a member of the National Team Integrated Support Team during National Team activities and assist the Athlete in obtaining quality medical care, and other sport science services provided through the Canadian Sport Centre/Institute network;
II. In the event of an injury or illness of the Athlete while in the care of Gymnastics Canada, GymCan will: o Assist the Athlete in maintaining health or returning to health. The IST Lead will communicate with the Athlete and coach to optimize local resources and treatment plans; o During a GymCan activity, make every effort to contact the Athlete’s emergency contact prior to medical treatment being initiated in the event of a serious medical situation where the Athlete lacks legal capacity to make healthcare decisions arising while the Athlete is training or competing.
Medical and Injury. 5.1. In the event of an Injury or Illness of the Athlete, the Association will:
a. assist the Athlete in maintaining health or returning to health;
b. make every effort to contact the Athlete's emergency contact prior to medical treatment being initiated in the event of a serious medical situation where the Athlete lacks legal capacity to make healthcare decisions arising while the Athlete is training or competing.
5.2. In the event of an injury or illness, the Athlete will:
a. notify the National Coach and/or Designated Contact verbally within 24 hours, and the Designated Contact in writing within 48 hours, or as soon as possible thereafter, of becoming aware of any injury or illness that might prevent the Athlete from fulfilling any obligations under this Agreement;
b. provide the Association with a certificate from a health professional describing the nature and diagnosis of the injury or illness which states the:
i. date or estimated the injury or illness was incurred;
ii. nature of the injury or illness, and whether it is an overuse or chronic injury;
iii. rehabilitation protocol, if any;
iv. amount and type of training the Athlete can do in the next 12 weeks and/or limitations thereto; and
v. expected date for return to full training and full recovery; and
c. follow a recovery and rehabilitation program for the injury or illness that prevented the Athlete from fulfilling obligations under this Agreement, approved by the Athlete's personal physician and, at the Associations’ discretion, a designated medical doctor provided by the Association, to ensure his or her return to training and/or competition in a safe and timely manner.
Medical and Injury. 6.1 TTCAN will assist, to the best of its abilities and resources, the Athlete in maintaining health or returning to health.
6.2 During events under the auspices of TTCAN, it will make every effort to contact the Athlete’s emergency contact prior to medical treatment being initiated in the event of a serious medical situation where the Athlete lacks legal capacity to make healthcare decisions arising while the Athlete is training or competing.
6.3 The Athlete will notify the National Coach on duty and/or the Designated Contact verbally within 24 hours, and the Designated Contact in writing within 48 hours, or as soon as possible thereafter, of becoming aware of any injury or illness that might prevent the Athlete from fulfilling any obligations under this Agreement.
6.4 The Athlete will provide TTCAN with a certificate from a health professional describing the nature and diagnosis of the injury or illness which states the: - date or estimated date that the injury or illness was incurred; - nature of the injury or illness, and whether it is an overuse or chronic injury; - rehabilitation protocol, if any; - amount and type of training the Athlete can do in the next 12 weeks and/or limitations thereto; and - expected date for return to full training and full recovery.
6.5 The Athlete will follow a recovery and rehabilitation program for the injury or illness that prevented the Athlete from fulfilling obligations under this Agreement, approved by the Athlete’s personal physician and, at XXXXX’s discretion, a TTCAN designated medical doctor preferably at the nearest Canadian Sport Institute whenever possible, to ensure the Athlete’s return to training and/or competition in a safe and timely manner.
Medical and Injury. A. All athletes competing in ITU sanctioned events (Junior, U23, or Elite in triathlon, paratriathlon or multisport) or seeking an Ironman professional licence must submit to Triathlon Canada the ITU pre-participation medical exam (PPE) as required by the ITU
B. In the event of an emergency situation where undue delay for the purpose of obtaining consent prior to medical treatment could endanger the Athlete's life, limb, or a vital organ, Triathlon Canada or its agent (coach or other designated person) will adhere to the following procedure:
i. Triathlon Canada or its agent will make all reasonable efforts to contact the Athlete's family, designated guardian, or other individual previously identified by the Athlete as an emergency contact, to obtain consent for medical treatment
ii. If such efforts are unsuccessful, or if in the opinion of a duly qualified medical practitioner immediate medical treatment is urgently required, then if the Athlete is of legal age at the time of signing this Agreement, the Athlete hereby agrees (and if the Athlete is not of legal age at the time of signing this Agreement, the Athlete’s parent or legal guardian who has signed this Agreement similarly agrees) that Triathlon Canada or its agent is authorized to consent to such medical treatment or procedures which in the opinion of the duly qualified medical practitioner may be necessary.
C. Athletes must notify both the Integrated Support Team (IST) lead and HPD by email within 48 hours of any unscheduled breaks in training longer than 3 consecutive days for any reason and ensure, in the case of an injury or illness that a Canadian medical doctor’s certificate setting out the specific nature of the injury or illness and the recommended intervention/remediation plan is forwarded to Triathlon Canada within 48 hours of the diagnosis of the injury or illness. Athletes are responsible for ensuring that their treatment details are documented and updated in their Smartabase account within 48 hours of the diagnosis of the injury or illness.
D. In the event of injury and/or illness, comply with the prescribed plans allowing a return to full training and competition, as approved by the Triathlon Canada IST Lead and HPD.

If such efforts are unsuccessful, or if in the opinion of a duly qualified medical practitioner immediate medical treatment is urgently required, then if the Athlete is of legal age at the time of signing this Agreement, the Athlete hereby agrees (and if the Athlete is not of legal age at the time of signing this Agreement, the Athlete’s parent or legal guardian who has signed this Agreement similarly agrees) that Triathlon Canada or its agent is authorized to consent to such medical treatment or procedures which in the opinion of the duly qualified medical practitioner may be necessary.
Medical and Injury. A. Report any injury that may affect training or competition to the Triathlon NL coaching staff as soon as possible. Provide timely information to Triathlon NL coaching staff regarding the progress of recovery from any such injury.
Medical and Injury. In the event of a serious medical situation and corresponding lack of Athlete legal capacity to make healthcare decisions arising while the Athlete is training or competing, LNBW will make every effort to contact the Athlete’s Emergency Contact prior to medical treatment being initiated. Should this not be possible, LNBW reserves the right to make healthcare decisions that it believes are in the best interests of the Athlete on the Athlete’s behalf.
