Common use of Minimum Paid Periods Clause in Contracts

Minimum Paid Periods. If an employee is required to remain at his/her work place to work overtime, s/he will be paid for a minimum of 1/2 hour. Time worked beyond the first 1/2 hour of overtime will be recorded to the next higher 1/4 hour. The applicable clause may be invoked with respect to meal intermissions. If s/he is required to return to his/her normal work location, aside from a normal meal intermission, or if s/he is required to perform overtime work at another location, a 2 hour minimum will apply, plus whatever travelling time is applicable. An employee scheduled to work on his/her scheduled day off will be paid for a minimum of 4 hours at overtime rates, but will not be paid for time spent in travelling to and from his/her normal work location.
