New Employee Orientation/Employee Information. 12.4.1 The district shall provide at least 10 duty days’ notice to the Association President of any scheduled group orientation meetings for new employees and permit the Association 60 minutes of uninterrupted time, prior to lunch time at the District’s orientation, to address the new employees. District administration will excuse themselves during Association time.

New Employee Orientation/Employee Information. New Employee Orientation City will provide the Association with 10 calendar days advanced notice of all new employee orientations within the bargaining unit, unless it is unable to reasonably do so because of an unforeseeable urgent need critical to City operations. If such a case arises, the City will provide as much notice as possible to the Association, or make other arrangements for the Association to meet with the new employee. The Association will select its representative to meet with the new employee and that meeting will be conducted after completion of the Human Resources orientation. When selecting its representative, the Association will make reasonable efforts to minimize disruption to the department operational needs. The Association will be provided up to 30 minutes to discuss, among other things, the rights and obligations created by the MOU, the role of the Association, and to answer any questions that the new employee may have.

  • New Employee Orientation The Union will provide each agency personnel director with the names and addresses of up to two (2) authorized Union representatives per agency to receive notice of each formal orientation meeting held by the Department. The notice will be sent as soon as such meetings are scheduled (but not less than ten (10) days in advance) and will include date, time and location. Due to operational exigencies, agencies may schedule an orientation which will provide the Union with less than the requisite ten (10) days' notice; however the Union shall be notified as soon as possible after the scheduling of the orientation and the Union representative shall be released from duty. Agencies shall routinely schedule orientations in a manner that will allow for the ten (10) day advance notice to the Union. During the formal orientation, the Union will be permitted to give a twenty (20) minute presentation which may include an enrollment in supplemental Union benefits. The parties shall encourage employee attendance, although attendance shall not be mandatory if an employee objects to attending the presentation. In the event a formal orientation meeting is not held, or the Union is unable to attend the formal orientation because the designated Union representatives cannot be released under Article 4, the Employer shall allow the Union representative and the employee(s) to meet during duty hours at a mutually agreed upon time and location for twenty (20) minutes Employee participation in these meetings shall be encouraged although an employee shall not be required to attend such a meeting.

  • Employee Orientation Each and every person working for a contractor, including sub- contractors, will be given an orientation to familiarize them with the site safety program. Unless otherwise specified, each sub-contractor is responsible for the orientation of their workers.

  • Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime.   • Employee to Inform Employer The employee shall inform the Employer as soon as possible of his/her inability to report to work because of illness or injury. The employee shall inform the Employer of the date of return to duty, in advance of that date, in order that relief scheduled for that employee can be notified.
