Common use of Notice of Layoff Clause in Contracts

Notice of Layoff. Employees who are laid off who have acquired seniority shall receive notice as follows: (a) one (1) weeks’ notice after three (3) consecutive months of employment; or (b) two (2) weeks’ notice after twelve (12) consecutive months of employment. The Employer may substitute the equivalent of pay in lieu of notice and a copy of the notice of layoff shall be forwarded to the Union.
