Common use of Notice of Layoff Clause in Contracts

Notice of Layoff. a. Each employee subject to layoff shall be given written notice of layoff. The notice shall prescribe the effective date of layoff. The written notice shall either be personally handed to the employee, delivered to his/her last known address, or mailed to the last known address if such address is a post office box number. The last known address shall be deemed to be that address which is within the personnel file of the employee within the department to which he/she is assigned.
