NTIP Mentorship. A. The Board shall advertise, via email, for teachers to be mentors in June and September of each school year. Such advertisement shall include the qualities of an effective Mentor. All mentors shall meet the established criteria. B. T he Mentor Roster for each school, shall be posted and include the teacher’s name and current work assignment. C. A new teacher shall make a choice of a mentor he/she believes best suits his/her needs, by the last week in September. D. The appropriate Superintendent, or designate, will provide OECTA with a list of mentor/mentee teams by October 15th of each year. E. Either member of the mentorship partnership may dissolve the relationship without explanation to a third party. Upon dissolution, the Principal of the mentee’s school shall be informed and the process of selection shall begin. F. The mentorship partnership works best when the mentor and the mentee are both from the same school; however, a relationship may be established with partners being from different schools. G. The focus of the program will be to address the specific needs of the mentee. H. A mentee is responsible for ensuring that the Individual NTIP Strategy form is completed appropriately and forwarded to his/her Principal by the third Monday in June. I. A mentor shall not evaluate the mentee nor have any input, direct or indirect, into the teacher performance appraisal of the mentee teacher. J. The process between the mentor and the mentee shall be confidential. K. Financial resources shall be allocated to the NTIP initiative to cover release time for the L. The following criteria will be used for mentor selection: • Be members of the Bargaining Unit in good standing • Be a teacher with five (5) or more years of teaching experience • Be experienced teacher professionals, skilled in working with both adults and students • Be knowledgeable and skilled in current curriculum and teaching/learning strategies • Have demonstrated skills in problem solving • Be open to the views and feedback of others, and be continual life-long learners • Be effective communicators and listeners • Have effective interpersonal skills

NTIP Mentorship. Any member of the Unit, with (5) years of certified teaching experience, may become a mentor within the context of the New Teacher Induction Process.

  • Mentorship Nurses may, from time to time, be assigned a formal mentorship role for a designated nurse. Mentorship is a formal supportive relationship between two (2) nurses, which results in the professional growth and development of an individual practitioner to maximize her or his clinical practice. The relationship is time limited and focused on goal achievement. Orientation to the organization or general functioning of the unit does not constitute mentorship. After consultation with the nurse being mentored and the mentor, the Hospital will identify the experiences required to meet her or his learning needs, will determine the duration of the mentorship assignment and expectations of the mentor, and appropriate training. During the consultation process, the Hospital will review the mentor’s workload with the mentor and the nurse being mentored to facilitate successful completion of the mentoring assignment. The Hospital will provide, on a regular basis, all nurses with an opportunity to indicate their interest in assuming a mentorship role, through a mechanism determined by the local parties. The Hospital selects and assigns the mentor for a given mentoring relationship. At the request of any nurse, the Hospital will discuss with any unsuccessful applicant ways in which she or he may be successful for future opportunities. The Hospital will pay the nurse for this assigned additional responsibility a premium of sixty cents (60¢) per hour, in addition to her or his regular salary and applicable premium allowance.

  • Inventorship Inventorship for patentable inventions conceived or reduced to practice during the course of the performance of activities pursuant to this Agreement shall be determined in accordance with United States patent laws for determining inventorship.

  • Classification of Goods The classification of goods in trade between the Parties shall be in conformity with the Harmonized System.

  • Labour Disputes 15.01 If employees are prevented from performing their duties because of a strike or lock-out on the premises of another employer, the employees shall report the matter to the Employer, and the Employer will make reasonable efforts to ensure that such employees are employed elsewhere, so that they shall receive their regular pay and benefits to which they would normally be entitled.

  • No Labor Disputes No labor disturbance by or dispute with employees of the Company or any of its subsidiaries exists or, to the knowledge of the Company, is contemplated or threatened, and the Company is not aware of any existing or imminent labor disturbance by, or dispute with, the employees of any of its or its subsidiaries’ principal suppliers, contractors or customers, except as would not have a Material Adverse Effect.

  • Patent Disputes Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement to the contrary, any and all issues regarding the scope, construction, validity, and enforceability of any patent in a country within the Territory shall be determined in a court or other tribunal, as the case may be, of competent jurisdiction under the applicable patent laws of such country.

  • XXXXXXXX FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRINCIPLES In accordance with the XxxXxxxx Fair Employment Principles (Chapter 807 of the Laws of 1992), the Contractor hereby stipulates that the Contractor either (a) has no business operations in Northern Ireland, or (b) shall take lawful steps in good faith to conduct any business operations in Northern Ireland in accordance with the XxxXxxxx Fair Employment Principles (as described in Section 165 of the New York State Finance Law), and shall permit independent monitoring of compliance with such principles.

  • GRIEVANCE ARBITRATION Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, for the purposes of this Article, an Employee has the right to grieve any filling of a vacancy or Assignment in the bargaining unit.

  • No Labor Dispute No labor disturbance by or dispute with the employees of any of the Partnership Entities exists or, to the knowledge of the Partnership Parties, is imminent or threatened that could reasonably be expected to have a Material Adverse Effect.

  • Step 4 - Arbitration a. If the Union is dissatisfied with the written decision at Step 2 or if the mediation is not successful, within twenty-five (25) days of the Step 2 meeting, the Union may advance the grievance to arbitration. Only the Union (not an individual Bargaining Unit Faculty member) may process a grievance to arbitration. b. Within thirty (30) days of notice of proceeding to arbitration, the Union and the College shall select an impartial third party to be Arbitrator. In the event the parties cannot agree on the selection of an impartial third party, they shall request a list of Arbitrators from Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. c. Within five (5) days of receipt of the list, the parties shall alternately strike names from the list until one name remains. The person whose name remains shall be the Arbitrator. d. Each party shall bear the expense of preparing and presenting its own case. The costs of the arbitration proceedings, including compensation, fees and expenses of the Arbitrator, and the cost of any hearing transcript, shall be borne equally by the College and the Union. Unless otherwise mutually agreed, each arbitration hearing shall deal with no more than one (1) grievance. e. Subject to the availability of the Arbitrator selected, arbitration shall begin within thirty (30) days unless a delay is agreed upon by both parties. f. The Arbitrator shall have no power to add to, subtract from, modify or disregard any of the provisions of this Agreement. The decision of the Arbitrator shall be final and binding on the parties, although each side retains whatever rights it has under state or federal law to challenge the decision and award. The Arbitrator shall have no jurisdiction or authority to issue any award changing, modifying or restricting any action taken by the College on matters committed to the College’s discretion under Article 23, Management Rights, which are not further abridged by other terms of this Agreement. Jurisdiction shall extend solely to claims of violation of specific written provisions of the Agreement and involve only the interpretation and application of the Agreement.
