Common use of Overtime Entitlement Clause in Contracts

Overtime Entitlement. (a) A regular employee or an auxiliary employee will be entitled to compensation for authorized overtime in excess of the scheduled daily hours, or for hours worked outside the negotiated work schedule(s). Other auxiliaries may be called on an as and when basis at straight-time. Where auxiliaries who are called on an as and when basis work in excess of the scheduled daily hours, overtime rates shall apply. (b) Overtime shall be compensated in thirty (30) minute increments, however, employees shall not be entitled to any compensation for periods of overtime of less than five (5) minutes per day.
