Common use of Overtime Equalization Clause in Contracts

Overtime Equalization. a. When awarding overtime as described above, overtime hours will be balanced among employees on an equalization basis to provide the first opportunity to the employee with the least number of overtime hours and the last opportunity to the employee with the highest number of overtime hours. In balancing employees’ hours, employees’ overtime hours will include overtime hours on a straight time basis that are: (a) worked; or (b) offered and declined. If 2 or more employees’ overtime balances are equal, Bid Seniority will govern. Overtime balances will be posted electronically.
