OVERVIEW OF TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE Sample Clauses

OVERVIEW OF TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE. The Lecture Theatre room will be equipped with a permanently installed AV and Lecture Theatre system. The AV system in the Lecture Theatre will have a large screen for display of 2D and 3D films, electronic images including document camera, computer based digital slides and computer presentations, as well as image/sources from the remote locations. The movable lectern in the Lecture Theatre will be the main system control point housing the DVD, the Mac computer, the control touch screen and the document camera. The audio systems for the Lecture Theatre perform three key functions: playback of multimedia material from various sources; processing and playback of the incoming audio from the distance education system; and processing theatrical audio from an audio console. The Lecture Theatre will also have one wired lectern microphone; two wireless head-‐worn presenter microphones; four wireless hand-‐held microphones for panel discussions; and a theatrical microphone package. The AV playback system will have 7.1 surround sound speaker configuration. Automixers will be used to mix all microphones to manage feedback and signals will be simultaneously mixed and processed with automatic gain control and digital echo-‐ cancelling. This process will be used for the videoconference and recording/streaming feeds. The AV source inputs will be routed to the AV playback speakers, videoconference sends and archival feeds, as required. The DSP will also handle equalization, signal delays, compression, limiting, level adjustment and other required audio functions. The control system will integrate the function of the many devices in the Lecture Theatre’s AV and Lecture Theatre systems. All of the required remote-‐controllable devices will be connected to central processors, allowing control to be from a colour control touch panel housed in the lectern and in the booth operator/rack room. This will also be connected to the LAN using the control system web interface. FINAL DRAFT For the purpose of connecting to remote sites, the Lecture Theatre will also be equipped with videoconferencing-‐ based distance education capability, allowing simultaneous transmission of up to two video and high-...
