Paid and Unpaid Leaves of Absence. a) Occasionally an employee will need to take time off for personal reasons and will have used up all available fringe time (Compensatory Time, Personal Leave, Sick Time, and Vacation). Department Heads are authorized to grant employees in their department up to the equivalent of one full workweek as time off without pay.
