Common use of Parental/Adoption Leave Clause in Contracts

Parental/Adoption Leave. ‌ (a) Parental/adoption leave will cover a period of 63 consecutive weeks or for up to 37 weeks before and/or after the birth or adoption of a child. Combined maternity and parental/adoption leave will not exceed 78 weeks. (b) Where an employee intends to take parental/adoption leave, the employee will inform the Employer at least 60 days before the desired leave of absence, which may be before and/or after the birth or adoption of a child. On request, the employee will supply a report confirming birth or adoption.

On request, Four (4) weeks written notice is required prior to taking the employee will supply a report confirming birth or adoptionleave.
