Part-Time Teachers. A. No full-time teacher shall be forced to take a part-time teaching position. A full- time teacher interested in going to a part-time teaching position shall initiate his/her request with his/her principal. The Administration is not obligated to honor any request for part-time status. B. No full-time teacher shall be coerced into accepting a part-time teaching position. C. While it is generally not the policy of the Board to have part-time teaching staff except where there is insufficient enrollment in a grade level or course of study for the school district to determine that a full-time teacher should be employed, the school district may consider individual requests to be placed in a part-time position. Part-Time Teachers. A. No Teachers hired before the first scheduled teacher workday of the school year (including teachers offered part-day teaching contracts) shall be offered written contracts for the entire school year.
B. Teachers hired after the first scheduled teacher workday of the school year (including teachers offered part-time teaching contracts) shall be offered written contracts for the remainder of that school year.
C. Part-time teachers will be paid at a rate equal to the percentage of time they are scheduled to work compared to a full-time schedule for the building they are assigned to. This percentage will be paid for the number of days they are scheduled to work.
D. A full-time teacher may request to be employed on a part-time basis. The part-time positions will normally be for a full year unless otherwise approved by the Board. Any teacher requesting to be employed on a part-time basis shall submit a request to the Superintendent of Schools by April 15 prior to the year of part-time assignment. The granting of a part-time teaching assignment shall be forced at the sole discretion of the Board and shall commence at the beginning of the school year unless otherwise approved. The teacher's written notification to the Superintendent that the teacher intends to return to full-time status must be received by certified mail by April 15 prior to the next school year. All benefits, including wages, leaves of absence, and insurance benefits, will be pro-rated for teachers employed on a part-time basis unless otherwise specified in this Section. It is the intent of the Board to pro-rate the cost of insurance as contained in Article XI (Professional Compensation), Section A and to apply that pro-rated amount to option A or B at the teacher's discretion. If option B is selected the minimum benefits provided by the Board will be all benefits as listed in Section B, Part 2. The remainder of the pro-rated benefits may be applied to an annuity of up to the maximum as listed in Section B, Part 1. If option A is selected, the teacher shall be responsible for reimbursing the Board for the remaining cost of his selection. Such reimbursement shall be handled through payroll deduction. The pro-ration for insurance purposes is based upon the number of assigned periods for teachers employed full-time within that building. Teachers offered Board initiated part-time positions, as an alternative to layoff, shall be entitled to full benefits. Teachers newly employed by the Board to take a part-time teaching position. A full- time teacher interested in going to a part-time teaching position shall initiate his/her request with his/her principal. The Administration is not obligated be entitled to honor any request for partpro-time statusrated benefits as outlined above.

Approval of a day voluntary request to transfer to part-time status shall receive be for one (1) paid planning period per day.
G. While it may not always school year and shall be possible, when approved at the discretion of the Board on an annual basis. If a teacher wishes to renew his/her part-time classroom status for an additional year, the teacher must notify the Board in writing by February 1 of the current school year. If for any reason the part-time position is terminated, the teacher shall have the option of returning to full-time status or resignation. The teacher must submit their decision in writing within ten (10) school days of being notified by the Board.
B. Part-Time Non-tenured Teachers Any non-tenured teacher who is employed at least twenty five (25) hours per week, but less than full time, shall be compensated and receive benefits (tuition reimbursement as per sections 9.3.B and 9.3.C of this agreement, sick and personal leave, and health, dental, disability and life insurance) on a pro-rata basis. Any non-tenured teacher who is employed at least eighteen (18) hours per week, but less than twenty-five (25) hours per week shall receive a pro-rated salary. Such teacher shall also receive four (4) full sick leave days per year, but is not entitled to any other benefits including leaves, insurance benefits, or tuition reimbursement. Any non-tenured teacher who is employed less than eighteen (18) hours per week shall receive a pro-rated salary, but is not entitled to any benefits including leaves, insurance benefits, or tuition reimbursement. Teachers who are less than 1.0 FTE will earn credit for the Bonus Sick Leave for Service based on two years of part time FTE equaling one full-time year of service. For example, a teacher working as a 0.5 FTE will reach their 10 years of service and be awarded their additional 15 sick days at the beginning of their 20th year of service to the District. The provisions in this section do not apply to tenured teachers participating in a job-sharing agreement nor to tenured teachers. Such teachers are employed covered by the provisions in the Middle School and High School, an effort will be made to schedule them so they do not have their schedule broken by having classes both before and after the lunch period.

Part-Time Teachers. 18.1 Fringe benefits shall be pro-rated based on the fraction of time in the position in accordance with Article 8.11B.
18.2 Xxxx leave, personal leave, and planning time (to the extent possible) shall be pro-rated based on the fraction of time in the position.
18.3 Each part-time teacher working in a half-time (.5) or greater position shall be expected to attend:
A. No fullAll professional development days and shall be paid at their/her/his hourly rate of pay for all time in excess of their/her/his normal work hours.
B. All parent-teacher conferences and the fall Open House. If the part-time teacher is assigned to more than one building, the principal shall work with the teacher to determine a schedule for parent-teacher conferences and the Open Houses. The part-time teacher shall not be forced required to take work a partgreater number of afternoon/ evenings than is required of a full-time teaching position. A full- time teacher.

18.4 Part-time teachers shall not be required to attend but shall have the option to attend:

B. No Staff meetings/after-school professional development meetings but are responsible for information provided.
18.5 If a teacher originally hired on a full-time basis is transferred from full-time to part-time employment status, the teacher shall be coerced into accepting regarded as being on a partial leave of absence from their/her/his previous full time status. If the teacher desires to continue to be on part-time status, they/she/he shall notify the Board annually by March 1 of their/her/his desire to continue on partial leave and part-time status. The Board shall approve or disapprove of the request, in writing, by April 15. In the event that the partial leave is discontinued, a part-time teaching position.
C. While it specialist shall have the right to displace the least senior full-time specialist holding an assignment for which the returning specialist is generally not certified and qualified. If there is no such person to displace, the policy specialist desiring to return to full-time status shall be placed on the recall list under Article 16 of the Board to have this Agreement. A teacher who is originally hired on a part-time teaching staff except where there basis may apply for a vacant full-time assignment under the provisions of Article 11 of this Agreement. A full-time specialist who is insufficient enrollment in a grade level or course of study for the school district to determine that involuntarily reduced from a full-time teacher should be employed, the school district may consider individual requests to be placed in a part-time position.
D. For purposes of assignment through the layoff process, shall be eligible for recall to a reduction in force (RIF), limited contract teachers who are “part-time” shall have less seniority than all full-time teachers.
E. G. While it may not always be possible, when at the appropriate part-time classroom teachers are rate.
(d) No part-time teacher or job share teacher shall be employed in a school or schools operated by the Middle School employing authority for more than an aggregate of twenty four (24) hours per week. Such time shall be inclusive of face to face teaching, pastoral care, sporting activities which form part of the programmed school day and High Schoolother duties as described by Schedule 3 (Hours of Duty – Teachers) of this Agreement.
(e) Part-time teachers may be required to undertake the relevant proportion of supervision duties in paid planning, an effort preparation and correction time, as provided in clause S3.2.4 of Schedule 3 (Hours of Duty – Teachers) of this Agreement. Any hours requested and worked in excess of the proportionate amount will be made to schedule them so they do not have their schedule broken by having classes both before and after paid for, at the lunch periodapplicable hourly rate.
H. In (f) Payment for the Middle School hours of duty for which a part-time teacher is engaged includes payment for the proportionate amount of other duties as provided in clause S3.2.4 of Schedule 3 (Hours of Duty – Teachers) of this Agreement.
(g) Details of the contact time, planning, preparation and High School, any classroom correction time and other duties will be advised to the part-time teachers at the commencement of the school year.
(h) Throughout the year and in accordance with the provision for additional hours in clause S3.9 of Schedule 3 a part-time teacher who teaches may be requested to undertake additional hours for special activities duties in accordance with the following schedule:
(i) teacher engaged for twenty to twenty-four (20-24) hours part-time per week – two (2) hours per term;
(ii) teacher engaged for fifteen to nineteen (15-19) hours part-time per week – one hour thirty minutes (1½) hours per term;
(iii) teacher engaged for ten to fourteen (10-14) hours part-time per week – one (1) hour per term;
(iv) teacher engaged for five to nine (5-9) hours part-time per week – half (½) hour per term; and
(v) teacher engaged for less than five (5) periods hours per day week – nil These hours may be required on a per term basis, or may be aggregated over a semester (a semester being either Terms One and Two, or Terms Three and Four). Such hours will be advised to the teacher at the commencement of the term or semester, as the case may be.
(i) If a continuing part-time teacher is requested to undertake additional hours in excess of the provisions of 7.17.1 (e) and/or 7.17.1 (h) they will be paid at the employee’s specified hourly rate.
(j) The provisions of clause 7.1.2 of this Agreement shall apply to part-time teachers: Provided that a part-time teacher shall be deemed to have completed a year of service, for the entire week purpose of this clause and this clause only when the aggregate amount of time paid in respect of work performed is 1,200 hours. Prior to 1 January 2013 the aggregate amount in respect to work performed was 1,000 hours.
(k) Payment shall also be made at the prescribed rate to a part-time teacher whose class or classes are not available unless notice of the unavailability of such classes has been given to the part-time teacher on the preceding school day.
7.17.2 The following provision applies to the Corporation of the Trustees of the Order the Sisters of Mercy in Queensland (All Hallows’ School)
(a) The hourly rate of payment for part-time teachers shall be considered calculated by dividing the fortnightly rate of prescribed salary for a teacher of equivalent teaching experience and academic qualification by sixty (60). Part-time teachers shall accrue a pro rata entitlement to personal leave and vacation periods based on the average weekly hours of employment.
(b) No existing employee will have the basis of his/her employment changed unless the change is agreed to by the employee.
(c) A part-time teacher shall be allowed time for corrections, assessments or evaluations at the school not less than at the rate of one (1) hour for every five (5) hours of teaching time. This time shall be paid at the appropriate part-time rate.
(d) No part-time teacher or job share teacher shall be employed for more than an aggregate of twenty-four (24) hours per week. Such time shall be inclusive of face to face teaching, pastoral care, sporting activities which form part of the programmed school day, planning, preparation and correction and other duties which includes: movement between classes; planning, preparation and correction programmed in the school day additional to that provided for in clause 7.17.2 (c); class/playground/transport etc. supervision; staff meetings; educational activities associated with the programmed curriculum; parent/teacher consultations which form part of the school's programmed reporting to parents; attendance at school for the required time before the commencement of classes; school worship; supervision or covers periods.
(e) Notwithstanding clause 7.17.2 (d) the maximum number of contact hours (face to face teaching) for a part-time teacher will be:
(i) eighteen (18) hours per week in secondary;
(ii) nineteen (19) hours per week in primary; and
(iii) twenty-two (22) hours per week for a specialist primary teacher.
(f) Details of the contact time, planning, preparation and correction time and other duties will be advised to the part-time teachers at the commencement of the school year.
(g) If a continuing part-time teacher is requested to undertake additional hours in excess of the provisions of clauses 7.17.2 (e) and/or 7.17.2 (f) they will be paid for such additional hours at the employee’s specified hourly rate.
(h) The provisions of clause 4.2.6 (Salary Increments) of this Agreement shall apply to part-time teachers. Provided that a part-time teacher shall be deemed to have completed a year of service, for the purpose of this clause and this clause only when the aggregate amount of time paid in respect of work performed is 1,200 hours. 20.04 A full- time teacher interested in going to a part-time teaching position teacher whose actual assignment over the entire school year is half-time or greater shall initiate his/her request be eligible for all benefits with his/her principalpremiums paid as set out in Article 12. The Administration is not obligated to honor any request for A part-time statusteacher whose actual assignment over the entire school year is less than half-time shall be eligible for all of the benefit plans set out in Article 12 with the Board paying one-half of the cost of benefit premiums.

Part-Time Teachers. 18.1 Fringe benefits shall be pro-rated based on the fraction of time in the position in accordance with Article 8.11B.

If the teacher desires to continue to be on part- time status, they/she/he shall notify the Board annually by March 1 of their/her/his desire to continue on partial leave and part-time status. C. While it specialist shall have the right to displace the least senior full-time specialist holding an assignment for which the returning specialist is generally not certified and qualified. A. Annual Appointments
1. At the time the extra-curricular assignment is made, such assignment will be accompanied with a written statement, which shall name the employee, the assignment, responsibilities, the duration of the assignment, and compensation to be paid.
2. An employee may resign an extra-curricular assignment upon notice. However, an employee who is assigned to the teaching position with a cocurricular component (e.g. Band, School Paper, Choir, Yearbook) is obligated to take the Appendix B assignment that is integrated with the instructional position.

Part-Time Teachers. A. No Teachers hired before the first scheduled teacher workday of the school year (including teachers offered part-day teaching contracts) shall be offered written contracts for the entire school year.

Part-time teachers working less than shall accrue a full week shall have their compensation determined by a fraction, pro rata entitlement to personal leave and vacation periods based on the numerator average weekly hours of which shall be the number of days (and hours, if appropriate) scheduled during the week and the denominator of which shall be five (5)employment.
F. In (b) No existing employee will have the Middle School and High School, any basis of his/her employment changed unless the change is agreed to by the employee.
(c) A part-time classroom teacher who teaches three (3) periods in secondary schools and in secondary departments of primary schools shall be allowed time for corrections, assessments or more in a day shall receive evaluations at the school not less than at the rate of one (1) hour for every five (5) hours of teaching time. This time shall be paid planning period per day.
G. While it may not always be possible, when at the appropriate part-time classroom teachers are rate.
(d) No part-time teacher or job share teacher shall be employed in a school or schools operated by the Middle School employing authority for more than an aggregate of twenty four (24) hours per week. Such time shall be inclusive of face to face teaching, pastoral care, sporting activities which form part of the programmed school day and High Schoolother duties as described by Schedule 5 (Hours of Duty – Teachers) of this Agreement.
(e) Part-time teachers may be required to undertake the relevant proportion of supervision duties in paid planning, an effort preparation and correction time, as provided in clause S5.3.2 of Schedule 5 (Hours of Duty – Teachers) of this Agreement. Any hours requested and worked in excess of the proportionate amount will be made to schedule them so they do not have their schedule broken by having classes both before and after paid for, at the lunch periodapplicable hourly rate.
H. In (f) Payment for the Middle School hours of duty for which a part-time teacher is engaged includes payment for the proportionate amount of other duties as provided in clause S5.3.3 of Schedule 5 (Hours of duty – Teachers) of this Agreement.
(g) Details of the contact time, planning, preparation and High School, any classroom correction time and other duties will be advised to the part-time teachers at the commencement of the school year.
(h) Throughout the year and in accordance with the provision for additional hours in clause S5.10 of Schedule 5 a part-time teacher who teaches may be requested to undertake additional hours for special activities duties in accordance with the following schedule:
(i) teacher engaged for twenty to twenty-four (20-24) hours part-time per week – two (2) hours per term;
(ii) teacher engaged for fifteen to nineteen (15-19) hours part-time per week – one hour thirty minutes (1½) hours per term;
(iii) teacher engaged for ten to fourteen (10-14) hours part-time per week – one (1) hour per term;
(iv) teacher engaged for five to nine (5-9) hours part-time per week – half (½) hour per term; and
(v) teacher engaged for less than five (5) periods hours per day week – nil These hours may be required on a per term basis, or may be aggregated over a semester (a semester being either Terms One and Two, or Terms Three and Four). Such hours will be advised to the teacher at the commencement of the term or semester, as the case may be.
(i) If a continuing part-time teacher is requested to undertake additional hours in excess of the provisions of 7.15.1 (e) and/or 7.15.1 (h) they will be paid at the employee’s specified hourly rate.
(j) The provisions of clause 7.1.2 of this Agreement shall apply to part-time teachers: Provided that a part-time teacher shall be deemed to have completed a year of service, for the entire week purpose of this clause and this clause only when the aggregate amount of time paid in respect of work performed is 1,200 hours. Prior to 1 January 2013 the aggregate amount in respect to work performed was 1,000 hours.
(k) Payment shall also be made at the prescribed rate to a part-time teacher whose class or classes are not available unless notice of the unavailability of such classes has been given to the part-time teacher on the preceding school day.
7.15.2 The following provision applies to the Corporation of the Trustees of the Order the Sisters of Mercy in Queensland (All Hallows’ School).
(a) The hourly rate of payment for part-time teachers shall be considered calculated by dividing the fortnightly rate of prescribed salary for a teacher of equivalent teaching experience and academic qualification by sixty (60). Part-time teachers shall accrue a pro rata entitlement to personal leave and vacation periods based on the average weekly hours of employment.
(b) No existing employee will have the basis of his/her employment changed unless the change is agreed to by the employee.
(c) A part-time teacher shall be allowed time for corrections, assessments or evaluations at the school not less than at the rate of one (1) hour for every five (5) hours of teaching time. This time shall be paid at the appropriate part-time rate.
(d) No part-time teacher or job share teacher shall be employed for more than an aggregate of twenty-four (24) hours per week. Such time shall be inclusive of face to face teaching, pastoral care, sporting activities which form part of the programmed school day, planning, preparation and correction and other duties which includes: movement between classes; planning, preparation and correction programmed in the school day additional to that provided for in clause 7.15.2 (c); class/playground/transport etc. supervision; staff meetings; educational activities associated with the programmed curriculum; parent/teacher consultations which form part of the school's programmed reporting to parents; attendance at school for the required time before the commencement of classes; school worship; supervision or covers periods.
(e) Notwithstanding clause 7.15.2 (d) the maximum number of contact hours (face to face teaching) for a part-time teacher will be:
(i) eighteen (18) hours per week in secondary.;
(ii) nineteen (19) hours per week in primary; and
(iii) twenty-two (22) hours per week for a specialist primary teacher.
(f) Details of the contact time, planning, preparation and correction time and other duties will be advised to the part-time teachers at the commencement of the school year.
(g) If a continuing part-time teacher is requested to undertake additional hours in excess of the provisions of clauses 7.15.2 (e) and/or 7.15.2 (f) they will be paid for such additional hours at the employee’s specified hourly rate.
(h) The provisions of clause 4.1.3 (Salary Increments) of this Agreement shall apply to part- time teachers. Provided that a part-time teacher shall be deemed to have completed a year of service, for the purpose of this clause and this clause only when the aggregate amount of time paid in respect of work performed is 1,200 hours. Prior to 1 January 2013 the aggregate amount in respect to work performed was 1,000 hours.

Part-Time Teachers. A. No Teachers hired before the first scheduled teacher workday of the school year (including teachers offered part-day teaching contracts) shall be offered written contracts for the entire school year.
B. Teachers hired after the first scheduled teacher workday of the school year (including teachers offered part-time teaching contracts) shall be offered written contracts for the remainder of that school year.
C. Part-time teachers will be paid at a rate equal to the percentage of time they are scheduled to work compared to a full-time schedule for the building they are assigned to. This percentage will be paid for the number of days they are scheduled to work.
D. A full-time teacher may request to be employed on a part-time basis. The part-time positions will normally be for a full year unless otherwise approved by the Board. Any teacher requesting to be employed on a part-time basis shall submit a request to the Superintendent of Schools by April 15 prior to the year of part-time assignment. The granting of a part-time teaching assignment shall be forced at the sole discretion of the Board and shall commence at the beginning of the school year unless otherwise approved. The teacher's written notification to the Superintendent that the teacher intends to return to full-time status must be received by certified mail by April 15 prior to the next school year. All benefits, including wages, leaves of absence, and insurance benefits, will be pro-rated for teachers employed on a part-time basis unless otherwise specified in this Section. It is the intent of the Board to pro-rate the cost of insurance as contained in Article XI (Professional Compensation), Section A and to apply that pro-rated amount to option A or B at the teacher's discretion. If option B is selected the minimum benefits provided by the Board will be all benefits as listed in Section B, Part 2. The remainder of the pro-rated benefits may be applied to an annuity of up to the maximum as listed in Section B, Part 1. If option A is selected, the teacher shall be responsible for reimbursing the Board for the remaining cost of his selection. Such reimbursement shall be handled through payroll deduction. The pro-ration for insurance purposes is based upon the number of assigned periods for teachers employed full-time within that building. Teachers offered Board-initiated part-time positions, as an alternative to layoff, shall be entitled to full benefits. Teachers newly employed by the Board to take a part-time teaching position. A full- time teacher interested in going to a part-time teaching position shall initiate his/her request with his/her principal. The Administration is not obligated be entitled to honor any request for partpro-time statusrated benefits as outlined above.
B. No full-time teacher shall be coerced into accepting a part-time teaching position.
C. While it is generally not the policy E. Except as provided above and in Article XI (Professional Compensation), all of the Board rights in the Master Agreement will be extended to have part-time teaching staff except where there is insufficient enrollment in a grade level or course of study for the school district to determine that a full-time teacher should be employed, the school district may consider individual requests to be placed in a part-time position.
D. For purposes of a reduction in force (RIF), limited contract teachers who are “part-time” shall have less seniority than all full-time teachers.
E. Part-time teachers who do not work a full day shall be compensated according to the portion of the day worked. Thus, a high school or middle school teacher shall be compensated a percentage of the appropriate salary on the salary schedule based upon a fraction, the numerator of which shall be the number of periods assigned and the denominator of which shall be the total periods in the day. Elementary teachers’ compensation shall be based upon a fraction, the numerator of which shall be the number of minutes assigned and the denominator of which shall be the total number of minutes in the student day. Part-time teachers working less than a full week shall have their compensation determined by a fraction, the numerator of which shall be the number of days (and hours, if appropriate) scheduled during the week and the denominator of which shall be five (5).
F. In the Middle School and High School, any part-time classroom teacher who teaches three (3) periods or more in a day shall receive one (1) paid planning period per day.
G. While it may not always be possible, when part-time classroom teachers are employed in the Middle School and High School, an effort will be made to schedule them so they do not have their schedule broken by having classes both before and after the lunch period.
H. In the Middle School and High School, any classroom teacher who teaches less than five (5) periods per day for the entire week shall be considered part time.
